Bottle at Taco Mac, TN. Pours clear dark brown color with a large frothy light brown head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malty aroma. Medium to full body. Balanced roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of an average duration. This is a solid drinkable porter.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle for 1.99. Been trying to find this one since they told me at the brewery they weren’t making it anymore. Anyway, pours black with a tan head that dissipates pretty quickly. Aroma is a little chocolate, coffee and slightly fruity as well. Tastes is quite subtle, comprising of chocolate, a smooth slight bitterness and a little smokey at the end. A little watery too, to be perfectly honest. Body is too thin for the style and over-carbonated. Still it is quite easy to drink and tastes pretty good.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
9/2/13. 12oz bottle at Bad Habitz. Surprised I hadn’t had this one before. Black pour with a nice tan head, good lacing. Ash cream, chocolate milk, and coffee on the aroma. Similar flavor, lots of ash, borderline smokey in a way (not the "salty" type), with lingering coffee and a touch of acidity. Tasty.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Ap: Pours with a HUGE head that I had to let settle. Maybe I poured this one too fast - Oops! Dark brown, with a tinge of see-through around the edges.
Ar: Roasted (or even BBQed) chocolate with a bit of smokiness. However, right away, I got a bit of soured milk or food kind of nose. Ugh.
T: A bit on the thin side, and not much on the finish. It’s kind of watery actually. Also, there is kind of a fake, dark fruit taste in general.
P: Watery, but with a fair amount of carbonation. It needs more creaminess.
O: I don’t think I’ll drink this one again. I’m glad I tried it, because I respect this brewery very much. However, this was a bit of a disappointment.
