An opaque black except around the edges, the head is hard to stir up and doesn’t last long once roused. The aroma is rich dark chocolate and espresso. The flavor has a bit of milkiness, brown sugar and cookie that make for a tasty porter. This is really good and much better than I was expecting actually.

Solid beer. Dark appearance. Nose full of roasty malt. Flavor is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, and a slight hop bitterness in the background. Full bodied and enjoyable.

Wonderful beer full of coffee, unsweetened chocolate and smoke. Medium body and lasting roasted finish.

Delicious aroma of dark chocolate, malts, and oat. Taste is the same. Very dark and toasty. Semi-sweet on the end. A really enjoyable porter

Pours dark with small tan head. Aroma and flavor follow description well with the roasted grain and dark chocolate. Smooth full body dry finish.

Cerveza negra con espuma cremosa como la de un expresso. Muy cremosa pero con gas vivo. Sabor café, chocolate, especiado. Muy interesante y compleja para no tener mucho alcohol.

Bottle shared with rbrazell! Pours a translucent brownish black with thin lacy ring of tan head and light lacing. Aroma of toasted dark barley, slight bitter chocolate, and slight coffee. Taste follows with hints of soy and a slightly bittersweet finish. Good stuff.

Thanks rbrazel! Clear dark brown head light tan head dissipates. Chocolate vanilla. Medical bandaid astringency. Aroma is a lot better than taste.

Deep brown pour with a small bubbly white head. Raisin, roast and smoke aroma. Flavor is chocolate, charcoal, roasted malt and hints of smoke with a chalky end. Medium bodied and drinkable.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle best by date June 2012, crap, poured into a shaker. Pours black with small light brown head. Nice lacing, medium body, medium carbonation, and aroma is bad vinegar. Really bad, my first drain pour, need to have this fresh to make sure.

Bottle. Very dark maroon brown color, medium tan head. Aroma of roasted chestnuts, burnt espresso, dark bitter cocoa. Taste is big and roasty, with dark fruits, chocolate, coffee. Nice character and complexity.
