The Duck-Rabbit’s Imperial Stout is extremely big and robust. This special beer is thick, jet black and oily in texture. Complex flavors of roast malts dominate: bitter chocolate and espresso coffee especially. There is also a very big hop presence both for bittering and for aroma. At 10% alcohol by volume, this brew is made to be sipped and savored!

Black pour with a medium brown head. It was late in a tasting session when I ahd this one so I did not pick up on the aroma. Nice hoppy finish. I would definitely get this one again and so far have been impressed with everything I have had from this brewery.

Where and how: bottle 355 ml Grape and Gourmet
Aroma where is this softness coming from? Mild fruity tones with paired soft alcohol warmth, coco nibs , vanilla and quality chocolate. Touch of mungo beans. Solid!
Appearance :
Top: lighter white cap, nice ring on edge. Minimalistic.
Base: dark brown into black.
Palate : full bodied with medium plus carbonation, tad frisky.
Taste: Softness of aroma transferred into flavor. Gummy like, soft with mild vanilla to it. Mild dark roast with mild prickly heat form booze.
Other notes I have been tasting beers for almost 15 years and yet I find such gems that make me wonder how they were done...this one if one of those.

Thick and viscous black/ruby stout. Small creamy silk beige head, lacing coats the glass. Aroma of chocolate and coffee, burnt toast, wet wood. Taste is smooth with a kick of roast grain bitterness on the finish. Velvety mouth feel and lingering finish. A sipper, and a keeper.

Bottle. Dark brown pour. Big, roasty, surprisingly heavy of dark fruit. Coffee and chocolate cocoa goodness with nice dark fruit for depth.

Bottle. Poured a thick dark black with medium head. Aroma is roasted malt, bitter chocolate and slight coffee; pretty much like the description above. Heavy bodied. Creamy texture. Slight warming alcohol. There is a bitter hop finish. A big, complex, tasty full-flavored beer.

Aromas of purple grapes, peanut butter, roasted chocolate malt. Black with a lasting, minimal, bubbly, beige ring of head foam. Dry, flavors reflect the aromas. Full bodied, chewy, perceptibly strong, lingering bitter roast.

Bottle. Good start ... creamy pour, tan head, rich aroma of baking chocolate and licorice. On the first sip, the positive vibes fade a bit as I get a thinner than expected body and an immediate impression of wet leather. Eventually I sense this is just in the finish ... and the front end of the beer is bitter chocolate and impressive, the odd finish is a bit of a spoiler. (#5490, 4/21/2014)

4/10/14. Bottle bought 2014. Pours near black with red edges. Thin head with little lacing. Nose dominates by dark malts and alcohol. Surprisingly thin mouth for such a high ABV. Flavors dominated by a fairly characteristic malt profile. Almost sour rather than dark roast notes. Perhaps unfairly, I'm comparing this to their Baltic Porter which is one of my all-time favorites. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
