They say an elephant never forgets. When it comes to this double IPA, you wonít either. This gentle giant certainly certainly has mad hops, but ferments out dry (,) so itís not too malty on the finish. Clocking in at 10.8 percent ABV, itís definitely not for the timid mice amongst you. Put on your trunks and dive in.

Pours a hazy, orange-copper with a off white head. Piney aroma with a little bit of citrus. Taste is not too good - a little mediciny. Many other better IPAs or DIPAs out there. Will not buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Surprised to find two new ones while on the golf course a couple weeks ago. This and the nitro coffee stout from sam Adams. This worked well enough for me. A decent hop bite. The only real problem I had was that the strength of a couple of these all hit me at the same time, just as we were finishing up. Got a little too drunk.

Oh man, stupid error. Quick recap of review that was lost.

Pours hazy orange color. Three finger rocky tan head. Good retention, good lacing.

Aroma is malty sweet. Honey, pineapple, light tropical fruit.

Taste is shockingly resin at first. After that, nutty, bread mold. Some citrus and tropical fruit. Not a lot of alcohol.

Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied. Finishes somewhat sticky. Not real dry finish. No alcohol detected, even after warming.

Overall, itís pretty good. Donít understand the low scores. Itís a little different, but by no means less tasty. I would recommend it, and I would drink it again.

Weird IIPA. Despite the triple IPA strength it drinks smaller and less hoppy than most in the 8-9% range. Grapefruit and apple(?) forward nose and flavor. Just weird.

Can. Shiny amber pour, super still, yet with a big olí head. The aroma is largely of tropical fruit salad. This also drinks with a distinct fruity character, super sweet and syrupy. This is pretty unique for a DIPA IMHO, and not what I expected. (#6163, 4/3/2016)

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and light summer fruit flavor with light caramel. Medium bodied. decent bitterness. Grapefruit and light summer fruit lingers with light sweet malt.

16oz can pours with a crystal clear copper body that has gold hues and supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up an odd earthy soapy sort of sensation as well as thin notes of citrus like gummy bears and floral hops and faint gravel. The taste starts with a blend of citrusy juicy hops, fussel like boozy pear and apple sweetness and then some sweet malts. To midway a thin resiny pine hop note comes to the surface to help pull this back toward being an IPA but fails in the end. For a drinking experience this does the trick but this is an odd IIPA.

Pours a half finger of head on a clear straw body. The aroma is lemon and flowers. The taste is mild bitterness... a little lemon and other citrus. The texture is medium. Itís easy drinking but not much flavor.

16 oz can, best by 3/11/16. Light amber, with a thin head and minimal lace.
Aroma is light citrus hops. DIPA? Maybe they forgot the aroma hops. Flavor is sweet crystal malt, sweet orange, citrus peel.
High ABV is hidden well, but there really isnít much going on. I had high hopes after Grandmaís brown was so good. For a DIPA this one misses the mark.

Can. Pours a copper color with a head that fades to nominal lacing. Aroma of citrus, bit of pine, fruit and bit of malt sweetness. Taste of citrus, grain, some malt sweetness and fruit. Hoppy bitterness that lingers into the finish. Medium body, a bit fruity, with an awkward feel. Not what I expected for an Imperial IPA.

Can. Deep golden orange with two finger head. Sweet with a lot of orange and citrus. Pretty mild bitterness. Boozy and overdone.
