Sampled at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours a hazy and dark brown beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is malt and caramel. The flavor follows the nose with additional bitterness and grapefruit. The palate is bitterness. Overall a good beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Craft Beer Co, London. This is a deep deep dark ruby-brown one, and it has a nice medium sized, dense light khaki head thatís leaving some nice lacings down the glass. On the aroma itís hoppy and fruity, but I also get lotís of sweet candy mixed with dark malts, a little bit of chocolate paper and sweet dark almost floral syrup. Interesting, and quite nice! If the aroma was interesting, the taste has to be entreating. Itís average carbonated with a mild oily texture. Itís near roasted, hoppy, has some chocolate tones blended with dark malts. Also, I get a mild brett-like light sour thing here. Not sure it ifís actually meant to be there, but I feel it gives it another dimension. It actually tastes a little wild, almost like junipers! Thatís it! The alcohol is well hidden, and it feels easy to drink. This was, in lack of better word, quite interesting! 19.07.2012

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2012 Draught at CBC. Joy Division are my fave band of all time, No Love Lost is a minor detail in the history of Joy Division. This tribute-beer is clear dark brown with a beige head. Light malty, lightly roasted, fruity hops. Medium bitter, dry finish. Nice mouthfeel, dark soul.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thank you Terry! Dark dark brown pour with slight hints of red when held to the light. Patent like roasted barley and coca nib notes give way to piney herbals and hints of tropical fruit. Medium body with a bone dry finish. Really interesting beer here. What black IPA should be...

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap @ Mikkeller. Muddy opaque chestnut pour and a nice pillowy latte head. Aroma is hop forward with bright citrus fruits, zesty tea, a bit soapy, a small cocoa hint and a bit of butter (diacetyl I guess) presence. Taste is brightly hoppy and citrus/pink grape forward. A farmhouse-esque note, chiming in with fruity esters and flowery notes. Lastly a tasting note somewhat reminiscent of how I imagine toilet cleaner would taste. Slightly dense malt flavour carrying a hint of cocoa nibs, but not any particular roasted notes. Tasty, but the yeast and hops are not a particularly heavenly combination.
