The Governator Ale is a craft-brewed ESB (extra special bitter) styled after England's finest "session" beers. The ale is easy-drinking, well-hopped and a bit stronger in alcohol than most craft beers. The Governator will only be available in California through the end of spring 2004.

Bottle @ RBWG 2016. Fucken hell. Thanks for sharing, Bobby. Cloudy orange colored beer with some white foam. A great example of oxidation... A ton of cardboard and just a mess of sugar and old hops. Some sweet orange peel, nut shells, and leaves. Kind of papery and dusty, too. Maybe a little goopy and toasty. Scroll past this one, kids.

22 oz. bottle shared by t0rin0 at the RB Best Awards - thanks again, Bobby, for this bizarre, completely rotted garbage! Supposedly this was a no-no after it hit shelves, which is pretty funny. Pours a clear orange color with a small off-white head that quickly settles into a ring. Notes of cardboard, peanuts, brown sugar, dead leaves, and some toast. Light-bodied, with low carbonation and a thin, completely oxidized mouthfeel. It’s old as hell, but so is Arnold.

A friend gave me this bottle he had saved for a while. Pours copper with a thick off-white head and a bready aroma. There is a slightly sour brown malt flavor with a dry finish. It obviously has gone bad, since it was not intended to be sour. But the flavor is surprisingly not too bad if you want to call it a sour beer.

"Old brew. Pumping iron label. Total novelty, but we drank it just for the hell of it. I remember it being ok fresh, but with age on it, it was pretty bad :)"
