Bottle at the Euston Tap, London. Poured a hazy blood orange with the most incredible Simcoe-led piney hop aroma rising out of the glass. Taste follows the appearance and heady aroma in being an almost viscous powerhouse of bitterness and sweet caramel backbone. This beer is no longer revolutionary, but a few years it could have been. I will gladly drink it though knowing I can gave it as fresh as can be thanks to it being local. If you like heady hops and lots of them on your tongue, give this one a whirl.

Bottle, Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Hazy orange pour with a smallish white crown. Pungent hop aroma with notes of tropical fruits, cat pee and spice. The hops and fruit were served up again in spades flavour-wise. Typically cracking balance. Mouth coating bitterness. Can’t fault this, a winning kick-bottom collaboration.

Oct 2012 - bottle, cold. Very nice IPA. One of the best ones I’ve tried. Foretaste is rich caramel, bitterness is marked but not overpowering. A bit floral (which is one of the aspects of IPA I don’t like so much). Good

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Ginger beer orange; bottle conditioned. Small, sparse head. Strong bitter grapefruit hops aroma. Taste is of warming alcohol, strongly bitter, citrus, earwax. Spiky, tangy, rough feel. A bit of a one-dimensional bitter thing.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. A cloudy yellow-orange beer with very sweet and rich juicy fruit chewing-gum flavours. Sweet citrus and tropical fruits with a creamy, smooth fruity (again!) finish. Excellent!!

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy amber colour with a thick white head and a little broken lace. The aroma is of fruit and hops. The flavour is medium bitter, a little dry, spicy and malty with floral and pine notes. The palate is bitter, but smooth and the bitterness lingers into the aftertaste. Some IPA’s have too much flavour, but this one has got it right in my humble opinion. A superb beer!

Helt spesiell.

330ml bottle bought at the brewery on a Saturday visit in early November last year. Chalk white head resting on top of a near-clear, golden body. Spotty lacing to the glass. Muddy last pour. Herbal hoppy aroma added by smell of peaches. Fresh fruity taste of peaches, grapefruits and lemon. Fine bitter tail, mid-dry. Likable IPA (shared with Finn, Tromsø 07.01.2013).
