Draught @ BBF’11: Small off white yellowish cream lacing on glass, with a black colored beer in glass. Smell coffee, espresso, coffee beans, coal. Taste is pure coffee beans, coffee, burnt malts, tar, burnt wood and a hint of sweets. Heavy but delicious! Nice coffee burnt malty herby aftertaste. Low carbo, soft creamy mouthfeel, full body and a sticky light creamy texture. Great beer, bit different than the average impy, but delicious!

Cask at the Brewery, 22nd December 2011, dark brown, quite lively. Great aroma, palate is smooth as silk and the taste intense and impressive. Everything you need in it for a wholesome Breakfast!

Tap @ Borefts Beer Festival. Pours black with a nice light brown head. Aroma is full throttle coffee, but not bitter coffee - it’s very fruity and mellow and reminds of black currants or black berries. It also has lush chocolate, vanilla elements, hints of roast. It actually smells creamy, ain’t that sumpin’? Taste is very creamy, coffee, dark berries, chocolate, lots of sweetness but also some hoppy bitterness and coffee taste to keep up with the sweetness. I have to say Nate, this is your masterpiece! The festival’s best beer for me.

Draft at BBF 2011 courtesy of nate2g, thank you sir! Very black color, brown head with good retention. Aroma of cafe macchiato with cioccolato caldo and espresso chasers. Taste is creamy dark fruits, chocolate, light spice. Wonderful.

Vollmundig, sehr gutes Stout. /14/12/13//13

Lovely coffee aroma. Coffee, chocolate, a hint of soot, an edge of alcohol lurking in the background. Seducive.

Draft @ Borefts Beer Festival, 2011. Pours black with a small creamy beige head. Lovely cofffee/Cappuchino nose and flavor. Smooth and subdued. Fresh with a hint of vanilla. Roasted and dry. One of the beers of the festival for me!

Bottle from the Kernel Brewery. It pours opaque black, with a thin beige head. The nose is caramel, coffee, chocolate, dark cherry, jam and varnish. The taste is chocolate, roasted malt, smoke, salted liquorice, tobacco, toffee, chocolate, toasted coconut, varnish, berries, vanilla and underlying alcohol, with a dry roasted finish. Full body, fine carbonation and creamy mouth-feel. Great balance, impressively smooth and damn tasty. Boom!
