Bottle at home, from Sourced Market, rated this as it’s been on the database for a while and was originally added as a beer on tap, 27/05/14. Black with a big old tan head of frothy bubbles, this beer looks the bollocks! Nose is roast malt, toffee fudge, cocoa powder, aniseed, caramel, hoppy backnotes. Taste comprises earthy cocoa powder, mineral tones, roast malt, light coffee grinds, hint of pine, hoppy pangs. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, roasted tones and hop bitterness in the close. Solid porter with a hoppy jacket.

330 ml bottle. Pours a pitch black colour with a small head. Aroma of roasted malts, lovely floral notes and some biscuit. Rich bitter flavour of floral hops, some herbs, biscuit and roastiness. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Not that roasty as their other Export India Porters, but has more bitterness. A bit thin compared to the others, though.

olio (6232) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 16, 2014
33 cl bottle.
Pours pitch black color with a large beige head. Aroma is quite dry and nutty, lots of caramel malts and chocolate sweeten it up with subtle hoppy and fruity notes also. Quite fluffy and light palate, dry dark cocoa, dark malts, faint hops and some wooden hints on the finish. Very dry malty palate, short cocoa finish. Can’t really separate the hops here.

Black with a thin beige head. Aroma of earthy hops, wood, smoke, roast malt, coffee. Light sweet, bitter finish. Thin oily texture, low carbonation. Good, but I expected a bit more to be honest.

Bottle from the Brewery. Thanks to Desverger. Almost black colour with a small brown head. Smoky, with notes of coffee, licorice. A Little hint of chocolate. Low carbonatoin. Nice smooth mouthfeel. Long medium bitter smoky finish. Good beer.
