Tap at La Tape, Madrid. Black, golden brown creamy lace. Dark roast coffee. Dry sparkly roasted body. Nice toast and coffee notes, well balanced to the herbal licorice and genever-like notes. Chocolate retronasal. Easygoing, flavorfull and drinkable Porter.

Keg at Craven Arms, Birmingham. Dark brown with a thin head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and coal. Sweet with a tempering bitterness, leading to an extra bite in the finish. Palette is a bit thin. Tasty but a bit anonymous, would have liked more personality.

Veggies in the back, amazingly low %. Usual hoppiness but some almost creme brullee like sweetness because of the roasted malts. A perfect 5.8 beer, so much you are tempted to sip it like an IRS. Tap at the Beer Temple

OOKPIKABLE (14) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 14, 2014
Pours black with a thick brown long-lasting head. Aroma of hops, followed by chocolate. Taste is of chocolate, toasted malts, hops and a bit of licorice. The 6.3% abv is very well concealed. Dangerously easy to drink. All in all, a very nice porter.

Wat een geweldige porter! Mondgevoel is intens en de smaak superieur. Een porter zoals je hem verwacht.’

33cl bottle at home, poured a Black colour with a fluffy tanned head. Sweet chocolate, milk chocolate, weak hop bitterness in the nose. Earth notes, bitter aftertaste, roasted malts, caramel. Could have some more bodie.

Pours close to black with a thick and dark tanned head. Nice aroma of roasted malts and resin. Pine and a faint fruityness. Slick on the palate, taste is heavy roast and moderate bitter. Finishes quite dry and bitter.

Nice balance between bitterness and the roasted malt, kind of a milder black IPA. Really enjoyed this.

Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. 6.5%. Chinook and Bramling Cross hops. Nightmare dark. Thick, tan, lasting head. Minty. Fresh blackcurrant. High cocoa content chocolate. Tinned prunes. Hint of liquorice. Taste is chunky, dark chocolate. Loads of bitterness, chocolatey as well as grapefruit. Thick, fruity palate. Tasty, and then some...
