Draught. Pours black with a lasting and good lacing creamy light brown head. Aroma is coffee, hard roasted malt, burnt malt, licorice, berrylike sweetness,cocoa and milk chocolate. Taste is light+ sweet, moderate bitter and light acidic. Body is medium, texture is creamy and oily, carbonation is moderate. Finishes dry and light astringent with hard roasted malt, alcohol licorice and coffee.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2013 Treacle like, viscous, thick, a dark brown or black with cream brown head. Can’t think of much to improve here, bitter and sweet and mineral all in one in perfect harmony.

33cl bottle from AlesByMail. Bottled on 09.01.13. Poured black in color with a brown, thin head. Aroma has milk chocolate and roasted malt at first, later strong black coffee and tar hits you. Flavor has roasted, almost burnt malt, strong coffee, dark chocolate notes and light ashyness. Very dry finish, ash and tar notes here as well. Interesting, fresh and tasty. Great stuff!

330ml bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. Intense coffee aromas, along with some nut ones. Pours very dark, opaque, with nice creamy tan head, persistent, good lacing. Medium body, soft carbonation, sticky texture. Taste is coffee, cacao, some nuts, raisins. Very well balanced. Artertaste is long, warm and dry. Very enjoyable.

Bottle 0.33l from alesbymail. Colour is almost black with small brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Coffee, chocolate, vanilla and roasted malts.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - bottled 09.01.13 - bbe 09.01.15, courtesy of VastActiv, thanks Janne, 20130406) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma was very mild and it contained coffee, roasted malts and burnt malts. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, burnt malts, liquorice, sweetness, coffee, ash, cocoa powder, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty, hoppy and bitter. Aroma was surprisingly mild but the taste was pretty good.

Dégustée en fût au Brouhaha à Montréal. De couleur noire-brune et opaque. Nez de chocolat noir, moyen de café et de malt rôti avec des notes fumées (fumée de bois) et quelques traces fruitées (petits fruits foncés). Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture légèrement crémeuse et aux notes huileuses. Léger goût de fumée de bois accompagné de traces fruitées (petits fruits foncés, petites traces de prunes) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute rapidement un goût de malt rôti et moyen de chocolat noir avec des petites notes de pain grillé. Parallèlement, un léger-moyen goût de café se développe progressivement jusqu’en finale avec des notes de houblon herbeux ainsi que des traces d’alcool. Post-goût moyen-long et un peu sec, moyennement amer de rôti, moyen de houblon herbeux, léger de café avec des notes de houblon herbeux et des faibles traces de réglisse noire. (2 avril 2013)

Bottle. Black with large diminishing dark brown head that leaves some lacing. Somewhat light aroma, but quite intriguing and balanced. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice, burnt, light charcoal/ashes, espresso. Also some light fruity and flowery hops to lighten things up a bit. Taste is medium sweet and light+ bitter with a very light acidic touch. Medium body, smooth creamy/oily texture, soft carbonation. Medium bitter and light dry malty finish with espresso.
