Simple recipe, massive taste. Dark, dark black. Oily texture. Loads of rich dried fruit and alcohol warmth rum and raisin. Then a herbal hop bitterness on top of huge lingering espresso. Hints of leather, tar, smoke, vanilla and chocolate. Roasty.

Bottle thanks to Kapusil! Terrific nutty roasted malts, chocolate and coffee aroma. Taste follows suit. Black color with little tan head. Heavy roasted malts everywhere maybe some rum too. Very balanced and delicious stout.

Can’t be as deScriptive as this site’s deScription. Maybe a little bit strange smell, but still a great stout.

Keg at The Hop Inn, Newcastle-Under-Lyme. A black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, some tar, slight vanilla and a little hazelnut. Taste of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, a little raisin, some other dark fruits, subtle hazelnut, a hint of vanilla and liquorice. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, lingering, chocolate vanilla, roasted bitterness in the finish. A full on roasted stout, a little bit of sweetness that works well. A sipping stout that is nice to drink.

Pitch black, with a nice, velvety, coffee coloured head. Smells like dark chocolate, smoke, roasted malt and coffee. Tastes exacly like I envision an stout: dark chocolate, bitter cocoa, sme coffee, smoky malts. Very well made.

0,33l bottle at home. Bottled 21.01.2015, BB 21.01.2017 7.4% ABV. nice dark almost black color, has a nice stable and mid-sized dark coffee-colored head. looks great. smells very nicely roasted, both earthy and smoke notes. some spices noticeable, also some very nice coffee notes, light notes of bitter chocolate, cacao. After the beer warms up a bit the coffee and chocolate come even more to the foreground. very nice smell, love it. full body, rather light carbonation, rather light mouthfeel (considering the ABV). oh shit, what’s happening? there is a lot of .... vanilla and licorice on the taste, two of my least favorite flavours in a beer, especially the vanilla. apart from that some earthy notes, light smoke, spices, only very light coffee and chocolate, also some roast, but overpowered by all the vanilla. finishes with vanilla, some roast and a bit earthy. Overall still a nice beer but not so much my thing. If the taste was just a little closer to the taste I would have loved this ... but oh well.
