3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Strong, bitter-sweet, complex and intensely hoppy with a faint dusty hoppiness, in fact a perfectly classic stout. I don’t imagine these are in absolute terms particularly difficult beers to brew as most companies that attempt them make a reasonable job of it. Nonetheless this is a great beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
330 ml. Bottle. It pours a very dark brown color with a brown head. The aroma is sweet caramel, chocolate, raisins and roasted malt. The flavor is chocolaty and heavily roasted up front with more raisin and plum coming through mid palate. The body is medium/heavy for the style and the carbonation is slightly on the low end. The finish is mildly bitter, roasted with hints of coffee and dark fruit. Nice one.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Smoke and dark roast, hints of peppery tobacco, dark chocolate and coffee. The taste surprisingly shifts to a more acidic character lightly citric on this bulbous round bodied beer. Touches of fruit with herbal, earthy aromas. This is really good.
