Simple recipe, massive taste. Dark, dark black. Oily texture. Loads of rich dried fruit and alcohol warmth rum and raisin. Then a herbal hop bitterness on top of huge lingering espresso. Hints of leather, tar, smoke, vanilla and chocolate. Roasty.

Three year old bottle. Solid black with a fizzy brown disappearing head. Deep liquorish full smooth black bean caramel roasted coffee smell. Full oily body. Initial taste of caramel and chocolate and moves to a smooth liquorish and finishes with a nice soft coffee roast. Excellent. Sort of reminds me of Lion Stout.

Czarne piwo o ciemnobeżowej, puszystej pianie i intensywnym, palonym, kawowo-czekoladowym aromacie. W smaku gęste, kawowe, wytrawne, lekko likierowe z palonym, goryczkowym, początkowo lekko kwaskowym finiszem.

Keg at Smithfield Tavern, Manchester. Black with a tan head that fades down to a ring. Coffee, liquorice and molasses aroma. Hops can be felt lurking too. Taste is much the same. Thick and milkshakey, but drinkability is good. I like how the hops help to cut out the sweetness without stealing the show from the malty side. Good stuff.

Alluring aroma in a moonless midnight black pour. Flavour is a brilliantly balanced mix of cocoa, coffee, and licorice.

Bottle. Pitch black, beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee. In taste mix of especially dark chocolate and very roasty coffe, really pleasant. Medium bodied, oily, softly carbonated, very smooth. Great stout, one of the best beer from Kernel.
