Golden to copper color; there is a scary amount of yeast under the cap. Aroma and flavor are both nice, both with toffee and hops; the hops are more resiny than fruity; the aroma also has light yeast and Parmigiano Reggiano; the mouthfeel is very dry, which lowers the experience, with a tip of astringency.
Good, but somehow unfresh, maybe that’s when Rye meets IPA.

Bottle @ home, bought at The Kernel Brewery, with special thanks to Nate! Hazy dark orange color, full vast lightly creamy white head. Smells fruity, citrus, hops. Taste hops, bitter, fruityness, citrus, grapefruit: marvellous! Very nice subtile carbonation, medium body.

Bottle at the Kernel brewery (thanks to Nate). It pours hazy golden-orange, with a thin foamy white head. The nose is sweet orange, tangerine, rye bread and a touch of pink bubblegum. The taste is tangy marmalade, orange, rye bread, toast, earth, leather, resin, light spice and some alcohol warmth, with a long bitter finish. Medium body and lively carbonation. Nice.

Bottle at home in London. Thanks to Nate. Pours a deeply hazy gold with a small, foamy, off-white head. The rye gives the aroma a sharp edge, and the citrusy hops add an inviting tang. The flavor is a bit earthier and less sweet than other Kernel IPAs. There is a strong, dirty hop character, pine, grass, dandelions. There is some rindy citrus as well. Medium bodied with average carbonation. The finish is lightly sweet with lingering dirt and earth, some oily and resinous pine, with some very mild toast. A very solid IPA.

Bottle 330ml. @ The Kernel.

Hazy medium grey orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, rye, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, grass, peach. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, smooth, grapefruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110730]

Big Cheers to Evin for the bottles - thanks mate! Light haze on this deep amber beer. Nice creamy cream coloured head. Nose of pine, lacto and mild citrus. Smooth palate with fine carbonation. Creamy malt base. Piney hops, mild orange citrus, sprity minerals. Just a touch of rye spice. Trace of grapefruit and then the cream returns. Good robust bitterness in the finish and the aftertaste. This was a very good beer 4 weeks ago but another month in the bottle has really developed it in to a beaut! Effortlessly drinkable tasty treat.
