Keg at Nate’s Best Ever Beer Birthday. Pours black-brown with a thick, beige head. Gorgeous. Lovely nose, very faint roast and just a unique, delicate cedar. Wow, delicious flavor. Dark chocolate, light wood but it’s prevalent, dark roast, a bit of meat. Full bodied with smooth carbonation. Very mild warmth, lots of chocolate and cedar wood. Unreal drinkable.

Bottled@my birthdaybash@Chriso. Very deep brown colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is big on roasted malts, some mild cedar and some fruity and wooden notes. Flavour is rather similar in a rather mouthdrying way. Lovely!

Kernel imp brown spanish cedar. Bit of spice on aroma and lovely malty aroma. Blimey charlie thats pretty intense. Huge wood huge spice. I got wood. Its great 849418

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2011 From draught at Nate’s birthday, The Kernel. Colour in glass is very dark brown/black with nice big foamy off white head that slowly dissipates. Nose is delightful combination of coffee, chocolate and spicy, woody cedar. Also some roasted grain notes. Taste is just a fantastic combination of these flavours. The cedar mellows the coffee. Quite potent alcoholic on the finish, but balance is perfect on the palate. Got to bottle this please chaps!!!

Clear dark black brown colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramle, chocolate, wood, cedarwood - tobacco, moderate hoppy, pine, grapefruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111203]

Nate2Gs Birthday Bash at Kernel. Opaque dark brown beer, big fluffy tan head. Good rich malts. Seems a little lighter than the base beer. Lovely sweet cedar that provides tang and emphasises the fruits in this beer. A little creamy malt. Finishes semi dry. Really interesting what the cedar has done for the great meaty Imperial Brown. Delicious and far too drinkable.

Keg at Nate’s Birthday Bash. It pours opaque, very dark brown (near black), with a thick light tan head. The nose is spice (including cinnamon and nutmeg), wood, warming alcohol, chocolate and meat. The taste is roasted malt, WOOD, dark chocolate, treacle, burnt tire, tar, smoke, meat, black pepper, tobacco, caramel and lingering alcohol warmth, with a big dry-roasted finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Tasty, complex and dangerously drinkable.

Tap@CBC. Black one finger foam. Roasted malts coffee. Complex wood. Cedar! couldn’t tell. Long finish. Like this a lot.

Sampled at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours a pitch black beer with no head. The aroma is malt, coffee, roasted, fruit and notes of acidity. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is sweetness. Overall a good beer.

Draught at CBC 2012. Pitch black coloured with a small beige head. Sweet and roasted aroma of caramel and coffee with notes of dark chocolate. Sweet and roasted flavour of caramel and coffee with notes of chocolate and acetone. Roasted finish.
