Pours a black colour with a small beigeish head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate chip cookies and coffee. Flavour of roasted malts, salty licorice, chocolate chip cookies, caramel, burnt bread and grassy hops. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and a warming finish with strong roastiness and salt. Great.

SpringsLicker (3127) - Tennessee, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Bottle at RBWG thanks to Leighton. Opaque black pour with a tan head. Roasty malt aroma. The flavor carries a lot of the roast malt flavor without being overly bitter. Nice one.

pretty sure this is the beer that Leighton shared at the RBWG .. . pours a very dark brown .. good amount of suds .. . the abv seems to creep in - tar and razor roast as well .. . a nice stout, but a year should calm this one down nicely .. . . the women has 18 pairs of shoes but no toes!

355mL thanks to Leighton at RBWG Jax. Pours a deep cola ruby. Nose is coffee, savory steak, dark cherry. Taste is a bit medicinal, camphor, gingerbread, black cherry, toast. Palate is dense, silky, rich. Strange little beer.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2013 Re-rate Sept 13, from a bottle now close to 18 months old. Worried at first it had gone flat, but a wee head appeared post-pour. More chocolate and coffee coming through this time. Needs to warm up a bit and open out. Some subtle fruits there too. Haven’t changed any scores, just wanted to be more verbose. Feb 13 - Bottle shared at home. Just amazing. Lovely head & lacing you only get from proper bottle-conditioning. Caramel, molasses. Mmmm.

Bottle to taster at the RBWG Winter Tasting (thanks Leighton). Looks good; a mostly opaque brownish-black with beige lacing. Smells and tastes solid; dark malt and roast with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Tasty.

Brown pour with frothy tan head. Aroma is light chocolate and malt. Sweet chocolate and a nice abv warmth from a pretty nice beer. Full bodied and smooth.
