Bottled @ Animal. Opaque black colour with minimal beige head. Aroma is strong coffee, roasted and toasted malts, slightly smoky as well. Flavor has notes of toasted malts, coffee, black chocolate. In the final alcohol is compensated and hidden by coffee notes, and chocolate plumbcake.

Aroma: Very boozy, liqueur-like aroma. A little salty.

Appearance: Intimidating jet black body with a small tan head that fades. Light lacing marks.

Taste: Raisin, dark chocolate, salt, caramel and tangy prune. Sweet and sugary with a slow-building bitter finish. Strong, warming alcohol.

Palate: Medium to full body with a syrupy, slightly oily texture. Soft carbonation.

Overall: I’m Kernel’s biggest fan, but this tastes a bit too sweet and boozy for my liking. It’s definitely a sipper. My bottle was 10% ABV and labelled ’Imperial Brown Stout’ (bottled in May 2012)

Pours a black colour with a small beigeish head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate chip cookies and coffee. Flavour of roasted malts, salty licorice, chocolate chip cookies, caramel, burnt bread and grassy hops. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and a warming finish with strong roastiness and salt. Great.

Bottle at RBWG thanks to Leighton. Opaque black pour with a tan head. Roasty malt aroma. The flavor carries a lot of the roast malt flavor without being overly bitter. Nice one.

pretty sure this is the beer that Leighton shared at the RBWG .. . pours a very dark brown .. good amount of suds .. . the abv seems to creep in - tar and razor roast as well .. . a nice stout, but a year should calm this one down nicely .. . . the women has 18 pairs of shoes but no toes!
