4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 33 cl, Kernel Brewery shop. Pours oily pitch black with a small brown creamy head leaving some lacing. Aroma is heavily roasted, malty, chocolate, coffee, dryish and has some smokey tones. Flavor is sweetish and fruity to start with then the roasted tones come more dominantwith coffee and chocolate and good bitterness. I find also some dark fruits and tingeling pungent feeling on my tounge. Finishes fruity, rosted and bitter.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours viscously black with almost no head. Pure coffee, but grounded some time ago. Chocolate, thick molasses, but also stout-acidity, roasted. Again coffee, cigarette ashes, coffee drabs, bitter chocolate. Severe, but good. Utterly thick, full-bodied, chewy MF. Pure cacao in the aftertaste, alcohol. Great, impressive beer.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle at home, 28th December 2011. Pours easily, thick and luxurious, perfect head forms and is retained, aroma is mocha, dark chocolate and liquorice. Taste is mocha, dark chocolate, sweet and bitter, salt liquorice, palate is smooth and carboonation light and perfect. In a blind tasting you would not put this at over 10% ABV. Very drinkable, especially in winter.
