33cl bottle at home from Kaapse Brouwers, Rotterdam. Body is pitch black, head is big, brownish, creamy, fully lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is heavy roasty, flavor is dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, cocoa, dried fruits. Medium sweet, heavy roasty bitter. Finish is long lasting roasty bitter, tons of chocolate, medium alcohol warmth. Full body, creamy and dry texture, soft carbonation. Excellent dessert beer, not too heavy, very tasty.

*from old note* Trevlig IS med framförallt mycket rostat kaffe, välbalanserad och inte sötma som är over the top. Riktigt trevlig!

Bottle. Pour is black with a small caramel frothy head, aroma is toffee, coffee, sweet, alcohol. Taste is toffee, chocolate, sweet, malty, syrup, warming alcohol notes and a pleasantly bitter burnt coffee finish. Outrageous

33 cl systembolaget. En öl som smakar mycket men även mycket alkohol. Detta drar ner betyget något.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2015 Black with a thick brown head, aromas of cocoa and roasted malts. Thick, oily and warm in the mouth, tastes of coffee, cocoa, malts, molasses, with a slight hoppy aftertaste and a nice bitterness running through. Masks the ABV well, but still has the lovely alcohol warmth on the finish. Not sickly or overly sweet like some imperial stouts can be. Really superb. One to savour over a couple of hours.

Aroma is how you think it should be with any stout. Cocoa and malts, a kind of held back aroma though, and a slight coffee note. The taste is also how you think it would be at first, but after the first "standard" stout taste, it develops a tiny herbal finish that is also a little bit sour. There’s a medium bitterness to this one, and the herbal touch follows all the way through. A fine classic stout that hides the ABV really well. Solid but maybe a little bit boring by today’s standard. I guess my great-great-grandfather thought it was awesome though?
