Bottle 330ml. Full marks. Aromas of coffee, caramel, chocolate, vanilla, and hints of liquorice. Taste is sweet and bitter, with never-ending taste. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Black, with a frothy off-white head.
5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 medallaisla (91) - PUERTO RICO - AUG 11, 2012
Bottle shared with the husband.
Very dark brown in color, the head fades away fairly quickly.
Very boozy aroma, milk and dark chocolate, espresso beans.
Taste: Wow. Sweet, sweet sticky malts that manage not to be cloying, tart cherries, and then a surprising punch of hops.

Backlog rate. One of my 10 favorite beers ever. What can I say? Burnt, hoppy, coffee, tar, fudge, creme caramel, incredible layered sweet/bitter flavours.

Dark oil black. Thick coffee flavor with a hint of licorice. Malty sweetness accentuates the coffee. A slimy mouthfeel and a heavy addition to a meal.

Taste is mocha, dark chocolate, sweet and bitter, salt liquorice, palate is smooth and carboonation light and perfect. In a blind tasting you would not put this at over 10% ABV. Very drinkable, especially in winter.
4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 knickskicks (493) - - AUG 11, 2012
Bottle. Pours sludge black, with a beige head that leaves except for a ring on the outside. Nose is charcoal, ash, tobacco, cacao, alcohol. The taste was a surprise since the evident high abv in the nose is well hidden here. More ash and charcoal in the taste, with some roasted coffee beans, molasses, and Christmas pudding which lingers with the hops. A nice big mouthfeel.
