Draught @ CBC 2013: Pitch black coloured. dense light brown head. ARoma: Roast, chocolate, cocoa, light coffee, liqourice, some brown sugar. Flavour: Roast, brown sugar, coffee, liqourice, cocoa and chcoclate. Medium to full bodied. Ends roasted bitter.

Tap @ CBC. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and a little liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, little liquorice, hop, medium sweet, caramel and a little bitter.

(Bottle) very dark beer with a beige head. It has a very strong aroma of a blend of toasted malt, chocolate and coffee. The initial taste in the mouth is a strong, bittersweet chocolate hit and then coffee and malt comes through. I think there’s a slight hoppiness in the flavour as well. One of those beers where there is a mix of flavours which work but each is still distinct.
Very drinkable. Too drinkable by half given the strength!

[5/4/13] Draught at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Black with a brown head. Aroma full of coffee beans. Bittersweet roasty flavor with lots of coffee and a bit of bitter chocolate. Full-bodied.

Black with a small tan head. Roasted malt, some licorice, ash, bread and some light spices. Smooth with a medium carbonation. A nice one.

Tap at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin tan head. The aroma is dry coffee leading to a strong bitter, liqourice flavour with coffee and dark chocolate. A super beer, but the liqourice is beginning to dominate.
