3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled from a 33cl bottle at 9.9% ABV brewed on 26/02/15 best before 26/02/20. Thick black colour with hardly any head or carbonation, hence a low mark for appearance. Rich taste of coffee and dark chocolate with notes of vanilla, as if from ageing in a Bourbon barrel. Lots of Demerara sugar taste. Good alcoholic kick and some smokiness in the finish. Really rich and oily mouthfeel with good bitterness. A great beer, but needs more, or at least some, carbonation.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured into taster showing black center and thick translucent coffee brown rims with half a finger of quick dissipating coffee foam.
The nose shows intense notes of rich chocolate, roasted malts.
The palate is thick and well carbonated. Intensely dark roasted chocolate malts and cocoa flavors on the palate throughout. A nice smoky note in the background and a bourbon barrel aged-like/intense espresso bitterness on the finish. Smoke and coffee notes appear on the linger afterwards. Big and rich - this is a slow sipper.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
WYGLĄD: Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzyste. Piana drobna, średniej wysokości, trwała. Oblepia szkło.
AROMAT: Średnio intensywny. Kakao/gorzka czekolada - dominuje. Na drugim planie aromaty beczkowe, orzechy, ziołowość. Wyczuwalny lekki alkohol.
SMAK: Paloność i gorzka czekolada. Posmak gorzkiej czekolady, dosyć długi. Alkohol "uderza" po pewnym czasie, ale wcześniej jest dobrze ukryty.
OGÓLNIE: Dobre (w smaku bardzo dobre), ale niedosyt jest...

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330 ml bottled 30.10.14 from Etre Gourmet.
Black body, with a medium, dense, creamy, moderately lacing, coffee-colored head.
Delicious, smooth aroma of chocolate, cocoa, espresso, toffee, some vanilla, dark fruits.
Tastes of espresso, liquorice, dark chocolate, cocoa, wood, dark fruits, some booze.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes smooth, alcohol warming, dry, roasty, quite bitter, with coffee and cocoa beans, liquorice, wood, some dark chocolate.
Very tasty. Smooth and dense, with a great balance between roasty-bitter and sweet notes and a dry finish that leads to a better drinkability. Alcohol is noticeable, but just provides some comfortable warmth. Overall not my favourite Imperial Stout from England, but surely among the best.
