COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We have brewed a beer to commemorate the birth of our son. It is a strong dark beer which hopefully will keep until he is of age to drink it. Brewed in collaboration with Phil Lowry, Simon Siemsgluess and Chrigl Luthy. Bottled.

Draught. Pours pitch black with beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, licorice. In taste sweet, roasty with solid bitter finish. Full bodied, oily texture, silky on the palate. Great stout.

Bottle @ The Clerkenwell Share. Thanks to whoever found this longtime want! Deep brown pour with a small head. Nose shows cocoa-covered red berries. Somewhat tangy. Showing interesting signs of age. Tangy blackcurrant and rich toasty malts. Espresso. Oxidization can really hurt a beer, but here it seems to have given this stout some interesting complexity. Really fun to try.

330ml bottled Sep 2010 at 12.5%, so over 4 years old now. Black, just a small ring of head. Aroma is yeasty and a little metallic, oil, dark chocolate syrup. Nice aspects but could be better. Body is full, smooth, soft carbonation. Body is spot-on. Taste is smooth malty molasses, chocolate, some ’cold’ tangy alcoholic high notes, a little goat cheese. Drying, woody, bitter finish. Very good.

Bottle - Bottled Sept 2010; Drank Jan 2013 - BCA; heavily sedimented. Pitch Black in colour. Very Malty; roasty malts, dark and milk chocolate, liquorice, burnt toffee, some espresso coffee, hints of smoke. Tarry. Fruity; notes of dark fruits, raisins. Hoppy; some hop bitterness. Some warming alcohol; not too surprising at this ABV. Sweet roast malty with intense chocolate flavours. Enjoyed this a lot. Terrific Imperial Stout!

Pours a pitch black with a fast subsiding dark-tanmed head. Intense aroma with heavy roast, coffee, chocolate, leather and tar. Some alcohol is also evident. Taste is heavy liquorice with coffee, tar and leather. Burnt malts and warming alcohol. Thick and creamy on the palate with soft carbonation.
