COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We have brewed a beer to commemorate the birth of our son. It is a strong dark beer which hopefully will keep until he is of age to drink it. Brewed in collaboration with Phil Lowry, Simon Siemsgluess and Chrigl Luthy.

Scopey (6713) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 13, 2011
Bottle from the Kernel Brewery (bottled on 20/9/10). It pours opaque black, with a thin tan head. The nose is velvety chocolate, smoke, roasted malt, salted caramel and coffee. The taste is rich chocolate, touch of soy sauce, salted caramel, roasted malt, rich-roast coffee, burnt tire, ash and lingering alcohol warmth, with a very long bitter-roasted finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and well balanced. Great stuff.

Small brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty earthy chocolatey aroma with mealy notes. Dry-sweet cocoa vanilla and honey taste with peppery resiny notes. Fullish body. Hot mouthfeel. Dryish chocolate, earth, and pepper aftertaste with resiny honey notes. (0.33l bottle from beermerchants.com.)

In bottle at home with Colin. A black beer with a thin, dark tan head. Aroma of coffee, cocoa, chocolate and caramel. Not too sweet and nicely bitter. Flavours of espresso coffee, chocolate and roasty malt. A nice bitter roasty malt and cocoa linger also. Mild carbonation and CO2 prickle with an oily mouth-feel. Very nice indeed.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours pitch black with a mid-sized, creamy, beige head. Good retention. The nose presents molasses, dark chocolate and charcoal. Full-bodied and super creamy with airy carbonation. The deeply burnt flavor punishes my senses with intertwined notes of singed cocoa and acrid charcoal. Finishes bitter and scorched. Intense! This world class brew was provided by 50belair!

Bottle, bought @ Beermerchants.com.
Pitch opaque black with a firm, big, creamy, beige head. Lovely duration. Aroma is vinious, roasted, dark chocolate, light plums and a hint of soy sauce, but not in a bad way. A little bit of juniper and pine. Medium fairly prickly carbonation, fat and oily palate. Flavour surprises with a lot of dark English liqourice at first, then softly roasted malts, vinious, viscous, soy sauce and plums. Very elegant, and for once a high alcohol Imperial Stout that isn’t sweet as sh*t.

Bottle thanks to my buddy in foggy London Town. I dropped the ball and opened this a too early. I cellared it for about six months. Another six months would have been better in my opinion. I say this because it was still just a little too hoppy for my taste. Black pour with a small tan head. Aromas of roasted malts and caramel. This is a very good imperial stout with all kinds of deep roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, and vanilla.

Fantastic nose with tons of milk chocolate, light roasted malt, maybe a dash of vanilla or toffee. Black in appearance with a small tan head. Nice lookin beer. Flavor is up front milk chocolate and light roasted malt. Get a little hoppy for my tastes on the middle and end. Very nice mouthfeel. Very very well made.

Bottle [330ml] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with no head -- oily looking. Aroma of roasted malt, some coffee and chocolate, wood, nuts, vanilla and more -- lots going on here. Flavour of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, liquorice and some alcohol (but not 12.5%). Dry, roasty, bitter finish. Thick syrupy mouthfeel. Fantastic stuff, I loved it.

Thanks to HogTownHarry for this I’ve. Appearance: Pitch black, thick mocha brown head. Aroma: espresso, cocoa, dark chocolate, vanilla pod, quite spicy. Flavour: Mocha, cocoa, lots of spices, tremendous creamy mouthfeel, long bitter and chocolate finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
