Small white head over fully hazy orange beer, fine lace. Jumble of exotic fruit, fine hopoils. Quite bitter hopflavour, going over into rather metallic bitterness, harsh-er. Slight astringency - the hopoils talking, no doubt. Medium bodied at best. Well - rather harsh...

Keg at Draft House. Orange, still, light haze, small foamy white head, full lacing. Aroma is tangerines, mango, leather. Body is medium, tingly carbonation, rounded. Taste is straw, pithy lime and mixed citrus, caramel malts, some booze showing up. Crisp piney finish. Cardboard and spice aftertaste, in a good way. Very drinkable. Good stuff.

Draught @ BBB during RBScSG. Pours very hazy yellow with a creamy frothy white head that leaves some thick lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity and grassy with crackers, grapefruit juice, mango, pineapple, freshly cut grass, pine needles, lemon zest and hints of diesel. Taste is bitter, fruity and grassy. Mouthfeel is dry, round, tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter with crackers, grapefruit juice, mango, pineapple, star fruit, freshly cut grass, pine needles, lemon zest and hints of diesel fuel and grape skins. Another great Kernel IPA.

I really can’t be arsed going over intensive detail and prophetic wankery about what you might be like if you had it. Suffice to say I forgot about this bottle, it wasn’t in the fridge and should have been drank a month ago. However...
Solid Kernel murk, decent contesting white cap. Bold, grassy mango and chalky smooches of passionfruit - that richness doesn’t die down. Apparently the initial taste was a swift lustre of Pineapple and grapefruit, lychee in the gaps and some need chalky dryness to mop up all this vibrant rich sweetness and door slamming biterness. Carbonation is non existent, hope is pinned upon you falling in love with the bountiful straw dry mouthfeel attached. Finishes a snake of more compounding sweetness and linger is a well raised barley sweet boost.
So there’s some prophetic pontificating for you after all that. This is proper line in the sand Kernel, weighed down carbonation and illustrious fruitiness, almost makes up for the Double 4C falter. Almost.

Bottle, Cornelius, Edinburgh
