Old bottle - not aged well. All hop flavour has dissipated but loads of hop bitterness remains. Quite harsh.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pale golden body, another great Kernel head. Lively-looking carbonation. The aroma is sweet and zesty, peppery. The taste is bitter, the hops nicely aggressive. The mouthfeelís strangely mealy. Overall, this isnít the best Kernel Iíve had, but itís still good stuff.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a huge frothy off-white head. Aroma of weak fruity hops and sweet mild caramel. Taste is moderate sweet malty with just a tad bitter hops towards the end. Maybe Amarillo is better blended, alone it doesnīt stand out. Still a good and interesting ipa.

330ml bottle at home on 19 June 2011, best before 3 May 2013. Colour orange colour. Very hoppy aroma. Lots of tropical fruit. Sharp hoppy flavour. Lots of zesty orange and lemon. Strong late bitterness. Follows the usual Kernel pattern and well up to standard.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
7th July 2011
Hazy amber beer, tidy off white head. Palate is quite creamy soft, fine carbonation. Creamy malt. Minerally mild orange with a slight green hop feel. Trace of peach. Finishes semi dry with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Very nice IPA but a couple of points short of the usual Kernel wow factor.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras Station. Hazy copper colour with thin beige head. Hop aroma explodes out of the bottle and on the pour. Lovely intense Amarillo hop aroma. Touch of toffee in the mouth. Hops remain throughout with some bitterness on the finish. Its a decent little IPA. Maybe not as great as some of this brewerys other beers as they set such a high standard. But still good. Tasty

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at The Kernel Brewery, Bermondsey, London 18.06.11 Soft in the mouth but the flavour is getting a bit of a battering from the Big Brick Red Rye Ale that I am drinking this alongside. The colour is hazy orange gold. Furry pithy bitterness, some grapefruit and a dry finish to this. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle at home in London. Pours a clear, rich amber with a fluffy, white head. Aroma is full pine, grapefruit and orange citrus, fresh grass. Flavor is about as good as it gets. Fully realized, strong malt foundation, some honey and sugar, quite bitter, thick and juicy citrus and resinous pine. Medium bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Finishes sticky with hops and beautifully balanced. There is a touch of warmth but otherwise the alcohol only gives this beer body; you hardly know itís there. Some lingering pine, toasty malt sweetness, hints of wood and grass. This is one of the best IPAs I have ever had.
