Very dark brown, chestnut edges, hazy, big rocky head, good lacing.
Aroma - Lots of citrus hops, grapefruit, piney, some resin.
Taste of grapefruity citrus hops, resin, then the roasted malts come through with some chocolate.
Full bodied, medium to soft carb, oily texture, citrus tang finish with roasted malt.
Overall - This was good, but I had a bottle 4 months ago in Leeds that was more balanced and better.

Medium, dense, tan head over very deep ruby-black beer. USA hops, rosewater, passion fruit and grapefruit aromas. Liquorice, hopoils, exotic fruit, waffles syrup. Caramel very present in the finish. Very slick, well-bodied (certainly for only 6.8% ABV), slick-syrupy. Maybe a tad too syrupy to vie with the best American black IPA’s. Grand merci à Jean H.!

Bottle from the brewery, dark black pour tan head and a hoppy aroma, a bit citrus. The hops in the taste were not supper strong, overall not my favorite black but not bad

330ml bottle (bought/stolen from Kernel themselves) BB07/07/13, at 6.9%
7 Lovely aromatic fruity and spicy hoppy aroma, sweet and inviting.
5- Black, tight tan head, some lacing.
8- Lovely rich roast, just a touch of bitter chocolate burntness, and even a little kick of ginger. Hops big but in perfect balance, fruity, fun, and fresh.
5 Super succulent palate, mellow carbonation. It just feels so good in the mouth. Finish continues everything from the taste, even down to the delicate gingery details. Hops probably last the longest, with a bit of citrus.
15 Super kudos - this slipped down so easily, there was not even the slightest hint of 6.9%. I could session this. It would probably not be the longest session of my life, but it would be a fun one.

Dark red-brown colour, light head with great retention. Aroma is crisp fruity hops, malts, grass and some caramel. Flavour of fruits, lightly roasted malts and caramel. Very balanced brew.

Bottle. Dark brown with a beige foam. Aromas are cocoa, lemon and pine with liquorice and hints smoke. Berries with nutty coffee and creamy oak. Floral with sharp blackberry. Oily with spices. Flavours are dark chocolate with coffee and peppery pine. Grapefruit with dark berries and bready yeast. Dry and spicy on the finish. Very good.
