Hazy gold - amber beer, good white head. Palate is smooth and softish. Semi dry with fine carbonation. Light creamy malt. Light fresh tangerine with lesser notes of orange and lemon. Whisper of hop skunk and tropical fruits on the back end. Turns a little sweeter and minty cool before the dry finish. Routine excellence from Kernel - how do they do it?

Keg at CBC - Clerkenwell, London. Pours clear, light yellow with a moderate, white foam head. Semi-dry citrus aroma, lots of lemon and orange, some straw. Medium sweet flavour with plenty of juicy, pulpy orange, dry straw, nice pale malts, some dirty hay. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly sticky to finish with mild warmth, more orange and lemon, hints of alcohol, some resins and light grass. Greatly drinkable stuff, good depth.

Draught at the brewery. Hazy golden/apricot color with a small but lasting offwhite head. Fruity hop aroma, citrus, pineapples, grapes, pear and peach, caramel, mango, orange, pine needles. Hoppy flavor, lemongrass, quite bitter but also a lot of various fruits, like pineapples, citrus, pears and some oranges, citrus, woody notes, hay and notes of sweet perfume. Dangerously drinkable and with a nice grape finish, apples, lemongrass, peach wood and a nice hoppy bitterness.

Bottle off the folks for Christmas. Brilliant gold with a tenacious fine white foam. Exceptional fresh hop aroma all blackcurrant, tropical chew, lychee and tea. Ditto the flavour which is crisp, humming and laden with soft tropical fruits; grapefruit, lychee, lemon zest, etc. Beautiful, slightly earthy pale malt aftertaste a ringer for unsalted monkey nut. Liquorice/star anise hints. Alcohol? Not a sniff of it. Gotta love The Kernel.

Keg at Kernel. It pours hazy golden, with a medium bubbly white head. The nose is hopsack, earth, leaf, farmyard, grass and faint citrus. The taste is dry pine, earth, leaf, resinous, light spice, faint citrus and grassy bitterness, with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good depth of flavour. Well balanced and flavoursome.
