Aaaah Kernel, my first contact with IPA beer. The value is still up its name: powerful aroma (mango and some agrume / bitterness) and powerful taste (hops and bitterness). Even with the "best before" date passed for 8 month, this beer is awesome.

Backlog rating. Keg at the brewery tap room, London. It pours a cloudy orange colour with a big white head. Aroma is mostly hoppy, but more spicy than the average IPA. Taste follows the aroma with big hoppy bitterness and some earthy spices. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, a very nice IPA

Bottle. Very hazy bright darker marigold, nice enough white head. Lots of pineapple, wood, and pine in the aroma wih the fruit dominating. Sadly, the flavor gets very dusty, bitter and more on the woodier side of things. Lighter I medium body.

Bottle at home, from Hippo Beers, 7% Bottled 25.03.14 on 05/06/14. Hazed golden orange with a good sized off white covering. Nose is juicy hops, grapefruit, orange pith, mango, straw, bread dough, light mineral notes. Taste comprises big chalky mineral notes, juicy hops, pine, grapefruit, orange pith, mango. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness and juicy tropicana in the close. Solid Kernel IPA - nice mineral vibes.

7.0% version - based on the old juicier number or the old Sim/Cent one?
Hazy golden, decent clarity but fairly dulled body - visible winks of carbonation and for once a decent contrasting white head. Neat lacing off dissapation reached ring. Nose is imposing grass/hay, dug in pine and floral grapefruit. Initial taste is well wrapped bitterness, lightly lime gummy, chalky sweetness. Full on bitter smoocher in the middle, aided by a pat down fine carbonaton on the palate. Finish is a chase between the sweet creamy ABV that seeped in and the eventual winner of pepper bitterness that screeched through the linger. Delicious and just shy of smashable. Both sides of the hop playing field very well balanced.

On bottle from beer merchant .com. Golden slightly haY color, good foam. Immediately hoppy, grassy, some pine and fruitiness: medium high aroma intensity. Medium/ full body & high complexity. Solid bitterness . Very enjoyable

Bottle from The Beerhive. 7.0% ABV. Hazy orange body with a fluffy white head. Great lacing. Aroma of grapes, lavender and pine. Flavour of flower petals, Parma Violets, grapefruit and a slightly peppery finish. Medium body with a creamy texture. Light carbonation. Surprisingly spicy for a Kernel IPA. Very nice though.

Bottle at Bishops Arms Örebro. Hoppy smell with citrus, grass and grape. Similar taste. Fresh and easy to drink just like all the other Kernel beers.
