3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Palme (2311) - Bergen, NORWAY - APR 10, 2012
0.33l bottle from beermerchants.com This one pours a light blurry orange-ish golden body with a small but heavy lacing off-white head. It’s really peachy in the aroma. It’s almost like smelling a ripe sweet peach, and there’s also tones of caramel, grass and clementine zest. It’s medium-bodied and it has a nice average carbonation level. On the flavor it’s also quite fruity with strong tones of peach and piny hops. I also get a good malty base and hints of fresh soap - in a good not so mouthdrying way. This tasted really fruity and fresh! Niice :) 25.03.2012
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 flying_pig (636) - SCOTLAND - MAR 18, 2012
Bottle at Brewdog Glasgow (£4.50)
Very pine like, strong bitter & tonnes of hops and a good floral base to the aroma. It smells quite summery and flowery with a lot of pine. There is touches of orange zest as well although these are muted.
Light golden colour with a cloudy body and a foamy, white head that is about a two fingers-width tall and settles down to a thin lacing.
Good hops present that give the beer a bitter pine flavour with lots of citrus and floral notes blended throughout the taste. Some lemon and orange as well.
Medium bodied and as mentioned there was a lot of bitterness but also touches of sweetness in there too. The finish was a slightly dry one.
Nice, flavoursome beer with a good body and made for easy drinking despite the huge bitterness levels, I would this a lot more bitter than most of the IPA’s have have been drinking of late.
