Really, Really like this. Poise, stylish and refined. So many IPA’s (a style i love) are OTT. "Lets smash everything in there and over power the drinker with hops, they’ll never know!" Not this IPA. There isnt much of a nose but it explodes in the mouth Good body, some residual sweetness but balanced perfectly with bitter hops. Finishes with juicy tropical fruits, pineapple, mango. A great beer.

330ml bottle from Cornelius. Standard hazy amber brown Kernel IPA with not much head. Very sweet resinous hop aroma. Fruity pine hop flavour. Hoppy aftertaste. Another decent Kernel IPA.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Osprey87 (518) - London via, WALES - MAR 20, 2013
Jan 2013 - This is quite a nice IPA, similar to but better than, say, the Stone IPAs from California. Has a nice balance. The flavours are typical - florally grapefruitty maybe a bit more malt than I’m used to from Kernel which is good. Drinkable as new-style IPAs go. Towards the end I picked up a tiny bit of pineapple (the holy grail of IPA in my opinion) but it was only slight and fleeting

330ml Bottle from Vino Wines, Edinburgh (£3.15):
Pine hops and some grapefruit with a stronger than usual tropical fruit aroma that shines through. There is some good fruity notes with some mango, orange and citrus fruits as well as a little spice. This one is also very well balanced on the nose with touches of apricot toward the tail end of the beer.
Cloudy looking, orange amber colour with a thumb sized, wavy looking white head that has a bubbly appearance and stays pretty well.
Bitter hops with pine and grapefruit complimenting them followed by plenty of tropical fruits and sweetness with apricot, orange and mango all featuring. There is a nice citrus flavouring in there as well and the balance is excellent.
Medium bodied and very refreshing with a lot of pine bitterness and some sweet, fruity notes to it. There is a moderate amount of carbonation and the finish is slightly dry and bitter.
Up there with the best IPA’s I have tried and certainly one of the best English beers I have reviewed here. This one started very fruity with good pine and grapefruit helpings that went down great and were very refreshing. A perfect example of the style, falling somewhere in between a regular and a double IPA.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 FatPhil (7496) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 12, 2013
330ml bottle (Snow@ChrisO)
Lovely hoppy aroma - fresh and fruity. Taste is a bit plasticky (got this in some other stella-hopped beers, I wonder if that’s the link?) Drinks very easily for 7.4%. Nice balance between aromatic fruity hops and bitter bite, and more than adequately supported by a sweetish malty backbone.
