Bottled, 330ml from S.H Jones, Banbury. Hazy gold with white head. There is a lovely fruity aroma to this, a tropical fruit coolie effect, this is followed by a slightly indistinct but still pleasing flavoursome beer, squidgy mango along with a sweet orange and light caramel. Another really good, rather than great, beer from Kernel, they are like the Dulux paint mixer of the beer world.

Bottle. Mostly clear in the glass, golden, and with a finger-thick white head on top. The aroma is piney and resiny with some peaches and pale malts. It’s quite bitter in the flavor, resiny and piney, with some pale malts and sweetness. Medium body, soft carbonation, semi-sweet. Bitter, resiny finish with a fruity touch. Too sweet I think, but it’s pretty nice anyway. 140608

weaselkenievil (1608) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2014
Bottle from Brewtique, Macclesfield. Pours a lightly hazy orange amber gold with a medium white head. Yep, typical great IPA from Kernel again. I’d be bored if I didn’t love them so much. Not their finest but still good enough to have many many times again and still good enough to be better than most.

Bottle from ’Jacks’ Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Wednesday 30th April consumed at Hastings Touring Park, Hastings Saturday 3rd May 2014 A muddy yellowy/light brown colour with white head. On the nose I get a little biscuit crumbs but this is soon overtaken by some sweet lemon. Quite soft fizziness on the tongue, a nice sweetness, the citrus buzzes about the tongue but whilst v.nice this is a little indistinct and like the colour its a muddy citrussy affair. Hazy amber with thin clean- white head. Aroma is subdued. Mango, melon, some tangerine, a little biscuit malt Medium-light body. Disappointing, its smooth but not as robust as other Kernel IPAs, a little watery tbf. Flavor is hop centric, malt almost an afterthought. More tangerine and citrus notes alongside a spicy bitterness from outset that continues into a long, lasting bitter crescendo. It feels like a Kernel lite when it shouldn’t be. Perfectly palatable but not usual high-standard Kernel.

Bottled. Pours slightly hazy and golden with a medium sized off white head. Aroma of orange, tangerine, floral notes, peach and pine. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and nice bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carb. A very nice and quite complex IPA.
