3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Chinook based IPA (forget about the "pale ale" statement in the label) with a characteristic kind of spicy and pepper final subtle flavour enhancing the hop bittering. Cloudy aspect with smooth floral-flavour in mouth.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (330 ml). Bottled on 23-04-2014. Hazy/murky golden/orange with a medium off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is herbal/floral with grapefruits and biscuity malt. Taste is herbal/floral with biscuity malt, grapefruits and moderate sticky bitterness. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Dry and sticky finish. Very good IPA, but a tad less tasty than most The Kernel beers I had so far. Good drinkability despite the sticky bitterness.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
What a treat this brewery is. And what a pain in the ass they are for making such amazing beers, and Norway being outside their meager distribution. A really well crafted, hoppy beer with a drinking ease, covering up the quite hefty 7.1 ABV (steady now!). I love the Kernel.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle from Nelson Wines, Merton. Another great IPA from Kernel. Hazy amber pour, light-bodied with a bitter piney hops finish. Not quite as good as the Simcoe Summit version in my opinion, but up there.
