Bottle at home from the brewery. Aroma is really nice sharplemon zest, then more tropicalfruits, mango and ltchee. Golden orange colour with a light haze and lasting white head. Flavour is classic kernel, clean malt, clean us-05 ferment and bright fresh hops. Hops are citrus, mano and clean grapefruit bitterness. Medium crisp body with light dustyness. Very tasty beer.

Draft at the Pint Shop, Cambridge on 24 November 2013. Poured a hazy, light amber colour with a tight white head. Slightly musky aroma with notes of orange zest and biscuity malt. Initial flavours of white grape, citrus hop, cereal and passion fruit. Grapefruit hops on the finish with straw and summer berries. Predictably good Kernel IPA; very solid example.

330ml bottle from Rehill’s, Newcastle. Pours cloudy deep amber with a good foamy head and a little ttle sediment. Great aroma of fruit and grass, really fresh. Flavours of peach and tropical fruits, a little malt and a really robust bitterness. The hops come through very clearly here. A fantastic beer, really delicious.

Bottle from a trade with Ken, thanks. Pours light hazed deep golden with a big stable off-white head. Aroma is spot on my malty and fruity target, caramel and lots of fresh fruity hops. Taste of fresh oranges, smooth and rounded malty, moderate sweet, with that lovely fresh hoppy bite at the end, lingering fruity and sharp mint at the final, I did miss those Kernels, maybe there is a god after all.

keg Grove Hudds. Creamy citrus nose with cat piss notes. So soft on the palate with peach flavours and a grassy finish, with just a touch of caramel late on. Another stunning IPA from The Kernel
