4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Still undecided about which is the greatest London IPA. Kernel Citra, Brodies Citra or Redchurch Great Eastern? Anyway, I think this has to be a regular for the Kernel. His best IPA so far and I reckon he knows it. Can’t imagine how better it can get.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
0,33 bottle from bottle-shop.co.uk
Wonderful hops aroma right out of the bottle. Small white head, quickly disappearing. Hazy orange to copper colour. Aroma citrus fruits, mango. Taste initially fruity mango sweet, quickly overtaken by bitter hop explosion. Grassy, grapefruit. This is probably as far, as one can get with citra only. Very drinkable, looong dry bitter finish, I can imagine finishing this bottle in seconds :-)
Exotic fruits, citrus fruits, good grassy bitterness, it is all to be found and enjoyed here. Very good.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 10, 2013 33cl bottle (6.6%). Pours hazy gold/orange with thin white head. Aroma is heady tropical fruits (mango/passionfruit) as well as juicy, zesty citrus notes. Some herbal earthy character too. Very fresh nose on it. Taste follows the aroma with plenty of tropical & citrus hop notes; a tasty smattering of slightly sweet malt balances well, but the citra is definitely in the driving seat. Herbal, slightly earthy tones emerge after the fruitiness subsides. There’s nothing too shouty about this IPA - it’s subtle, well made, and lets the hop do the talking in a really well-balanced way. Nice semi-dry finish with a tasty citric hop bitter zing and some lingering herbaceousness. A great brew.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle, drunk 6 weeks from bottling date.
Aroma of intense citrus in the way the hop used can impart. Detect a tiny hint of yeast or other sugary smell.
Pours a straw yellow, murky but pleasant-looking. Carbonation not excessive, but pleasantly present.
Tastes refreshingly citrusy without being overpowering. Contains definite malt sweetness but not the cloying crystal malt kind. In that sense a thoroughly British IPA, and not an American one despite the hop variety used. Very pleasant half pint that shows different facets as it warms up.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very citrusy, lemony aromatic smell. Flavour is also sharp and citrusy at first. It becomes sweeter and more bitter in the finish. Quite a sticky, oily feel.
