4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines drank at home; I’ve tasted a few of The Kernel’s IPA’s and this is my favourite hop, it has a Piney resiny freshness like a toilet just after a dousing with toilet duck. Drank on numerous occasions and will revisit as frequently as possible. Food accompaniment: Aromatic Crispy Duck with Pancakes

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Bottle, purchased at the brewery outlet) Golden amber colour, slightly hazy, with huge frothy off-white head, leaving traces of lacing. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, tropical fruit (lychee, passion fruit, mango), a touch of honey and floral, citric hops. Fruity taste with citrus, apricots, passion fruit, pineapple, mango, a touch of crystal malt, orange peel, honey and a fresh, citric bitterness in the finish. Slightly more than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Very nice and tasty IPA with a fresh citric hop character, yet in excellent balance. Lovely!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Golden orange, slightly cloudy. Lighter aroma of citrusy hops, much duller than forthcoming flavor. Citrus zest filled flavor, juicy citrusy hops. Another winner from the Kernel

found this one to be slightly disappointing. looks bad, very hazy and a strange copper/yellow colour.
flavour is good, but the body was a bit thin.

Bottle. Hazy gold brown with a thin foam. Aromas are biscuit and caramel with pineapple and floral pine. Woody with hints of seawater and mango. Flavours are sweet tropical fruit with some mango and lemon tartness. Bitter grapefruit with green pine. Yeasty with base caramel malts. Salty and peppery with good bitterness to finish. Good.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Have been lucky enough to try this, very fresh, quite a few times now and it is probably my favorite IPA FULL STOP. Pours golden with a medim full head that is fairly dense and creamy. Smell is superb! Just one of those beers I find myself smelling over adn over without even tasting and still feeling great about it. Lot’s of Citrus zest mostly grapefruit, sticky pine resin and honey and grass as well rounding it out. Taste is much like the smell but a bit rougher and heavier on the pine less so on the citrus. Patate is medium and not as sticky as I thought it would be, but this is an IPA not a DIPA so I guess I should have expected the refreshment that I got rather than the sticky icky I expect from great DiPA’s. Overall this is a fantastic IPA from a World Class Brewery which I am lucky enough to live about 1.5 miles away from.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 30, 2013 Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a medium white head. Light carbonation. Great lacing. Aroma of lemon meringue, grapefruit and biscuit. As it warms, mango and pineapple notes become evident. Flavour of candy, lemon drops, tiger bread and pine. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation. As much as I love it, I think when it’s used alone the Citra hop is better suited to light, low ABV beers as opposed to high ABV beers.
