330ml bottle 6.6%. Orange-golden amber colour, foam white head that leaves some lacing and aroma of floral citrus, grapefruit, orange, mango & pine. Caramel malt taste balanced against a hoppy bitterness that lingers, with lemon & orange citrus flavours plus mango & pine resin notes. Smooth mouth feel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish. Very drinkable IPA.

Bottle during RBWG 2013 thanks to Leighton! Golden orange pour. Lots of citrus fruit, tropical fruit, and touches of pine and bitterness in the aroma and flavor. Tasty!

Cloudy amber beer with a thin frothy head. Unsurprisingly given the citra hops there’s a citrus aroma but with a grapefruit (I think) edge to it. The flavour has a sharp tangy flavour on the tongue and settles to leave a last, lemony and hoppy aftertaste.

Bottle. Hazy orange beer with residual head. Aroma of passion fruits and grapefruit. The taste is a fine mix of fruits, passion fruit, grapefruit, kiwi, oranges and all sorts of exotic fruit. All this and sweetness. Great on the palate, lightly carbonated and chewy. Overall this is an excellent beer.

Read Bish’s and Dan’s and if you’re still not convinced then there’s very little I can say to change our mind. But know this...if you’re not working with us, then you stand in our way and work against us, and when the empire crumbles so shall you. And crumble it must as this is how they all started before, seemingly obscure censorship masking an evil that lurks within. We’re coming for you...

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2013 330ml bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. Nice citrusy aromas, fresh, tropical fruit. Pours bright gold, a bit hazy, with nice offwhite head, lasting, some lacing. Medium body, high carbpnation, slightly crispy texture. Taste is citrusy, some sweet, mild bitterness. Well balanced and enjoyable.

Oct 2012 Cold bottle - loads of sediment. One of the mildest IPAs I’ve tasted from The Kernel. The dry hoppiness is really toned down, and so is the fruitiness. Allows you to taste the malt more. Quite strong at 7.2%, but alcohol is not noticeable. Quite pleasant. (3.6)

March 2013 - New batch bottled 12/02/13 at 6.7%. Kept the glass clean of sediment this time round. More balance than the majority of Kernel IPAs I’ve tried, and milder too but still punchy. A bit of a ’dirty’ tasting chemical bitterness which brings a mild astringency. The initial impression is citrus fruit and a tiny bit of pineapple but later on the foretaste becomes more watery so that you’re left with just that dirty bitterness. Not bad, but not great either. (3.4)

July 2013 - Cold bottle, 3 weeks old, 6.6% Cloudy orange, good citra smell. Smell is orange, taste is grapefruit and floral. Nice. (3.7)

Average becomes 3.6.

Pungent hop nose with spice, spruce and citrus. Orange, mango, pine needles and lemonade. Flavour follows the nose but adds a little candy sweetness and a little earthy bitterness. The balance is spot on, and the flavours resonate with tropical hop resins and fruits. Finish is achingly moreish. Superb.

330 ml bottle.
Pours a golden colour with a large white head. Aroma of citrusy hops, pineapple and pear juice. Flavour of strong citrusy hops, some bready malts, grapefruit, tropical fruits and some sweetness. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Finishes fruity, citrusy and strong on bitterness. Very well balanced, but could use a more plentiful hop profile.

33cl bottle. Pours a foggy orange colour with very small white head. Amazing aroma, actually the best of this beer: Lots of intense orange and lemon notes, some malt as well. Taste is pretty much mango-like, with some citrus and caramel. Quite strange. Mouthfeel is creamy, very low in carbonation. It’s like drinking juice or something lol.
