Super dank standard ipa from kernel - very unbalanced and bitterness is almost overpowering. Almost unpleasant

Bottle Rehills Newcastle. Gorgeous sweet orange marmalade aroma. Quite dry and earthy, very soft and easy on the palate. Lovely prickly aftertaste, great tang in the finish. New superlatives for Kernel beers needed yet again!

Definitely my favourite brewer of single hops IPAs. As always, incredibly fresh (helps to live in London) with a smooth malt. A cloudy pour with hops that taste of bitter tangerine and grapefruit.

From the bottle - lovely strong fragrant rumour, great hoppy, citrusy taste. Cracking...

Draught at Redwillow, Macclesfield. Golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity, angelís piss, citrus. Flavour is similar, nice bitterness, nice sweetness. Smooth creamy palate with medium hoppy bitterness. Quite simply fucking awesome.

330ml Bottle - Golden with a white head. Pine, pineapple and hints of apple in the aroma. Hoppy and moderately bitter taste with pineapple, grapefruit and biscuity malt detected.

Hazy gold with thick white lacing. Very fresh aroma of dank hops and pine resin, undertones of candied lemon peel, cut grass and orange marmalade. Luxurious palate and soft carbonation. A some what reserved flavour compared to its bouquet, lead by a crisp dusty malt. Highlights of lemon, grass and pine are present and lead to a long dry bitterness.

330 ml. bottle dated 2/11/14. This one pours a hazy orange color with a white head. The yeast didnít floc to the bottom of the bottle as well as it did in the CitraÖ The aroma is very potent with spice, weed, florals, grapefruit and tangerine. The flavor is very weedy, grassy and spicy with some bitter grapefruit. The bitterness is a bit overpowering and the flavor is a tad messy, but still pretty decent. Iím sure the yeast in suspension had something to do with that.

Bottled. Pours hazy and deep golden with a small, lacing white head. Aroma caramel, citrus, herbal and earthy notes. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and nice bitter. Medium bodied, oily text. and soft carb. An excellent IPA.

Pours fairly dank and fresh. Grapefruit, tangerine, candied sweets, malt & some pine in aroma. Bitterness accelerates through the predominantly marmalade flavor. Still a nice balance with caramel malt. Flavor is a little abrupt. A little oily. Very light carbonation arrests Kernelís normal velvety mouth-feel. Nothing gregarious but a standard, quality, Kernel beer.

Clotted golden with a thin ringed white head. Grassy lime gum nose, peppery apricot and a lychee boozy burn as it warmed. Initially easy going grassy lime leading to dry pine middle. In between and throughout is a rich, earthy passion fruit and perfumed hop funk. A lot of boozy sugarness comes through, a nice IPA spank not oft seen from Kernel but underlying a boozy bitterness that doesnít aid the most moreish finish. Quite gummy mango/lychee top and tailed combo on the linger. Very snappy from nose to linger.
