Bottle from Cotteridge Wines. Poured a cloudy light amber with a frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is fresh grassy hop with some creamy caramel notes and crushed banana. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth hop bitter, slightly malty palate and a very long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A unique hop combination as far as I know and it worked for me.

Bottle from Kernel brewery. Colour is light clear amber, medium white foam head which dissipates to very thin. Nose is lemon citrous, toffee, biscuit malt, grain husky. The aroma is quite subtle and not a huge amount of hop. Taste is much bolder though with grapefruit, pine, resiny, grainy husky, honey, biscuit malt. Finish is honey, grain malt, like a golden ale, but with big old hop bitter kick.

Bottle from Birratrovo, Como; bottled 17.06.13, bb 17.10.13
Cloudy blond color with medium sized compact head. The hop aroma is still quite fruity, lightly sweaty. The mouthfeel is smooth (smoother than some Kernel Pale Ales tasted in parallel), with some minimal residual sugars, good malt, quite evident spicy yeast presence, strong bitterness, still enough hop resins, but fading hop fruitiness.
Promising beer, but already unfresh.

330 bottle beer merchants. Lovely subtle mango aroma, doesn’t hit you in the face like some do. Slightly perfumed, the finish is medium dry, with just the occasional peach sweetness to counter. The hop combo makes this a wee bit different to the recent Kernel beers I’ve had. Great stuff.

Hazy amber golden colour, white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, grapefruit, pineapple, hops and a huge floral note. Bitter flavour, fruity, grapefruit. Dry bitter finish.

330ml bottle from Beermerchants.com. Hazy amber brown, not much head. Mild tropical fruit hop aroma. Complex biscuit, toffee, resin hop & mango flavour. Sharp on palate, bitter leafy aftertaste. More complex than most Kernel IPAs but I prefer them simpler.
