330 ml bottle, pours murky orange gold, no head, not much carb and a bit of yeast in he glass. Aroma is pungent hop, tropical fruit, grapefruit, mango. Good balance with sweet caramel malt and the high abv is well hidden. Bitterness comes through leaving a sweet fruity aftertaste. Dangerously easy to drink, the low carb is OK but would prefer some more bubbles myself.

330ml bottle from Good Spirits Co. Orange amber, no head, a bit flat. Very strong sweet resin hop aroma. Sickly sweet hop flavour and strong alcohol hop aftertaste. Too strong & sweet for me. One of the very few poor Kernel beers I have had.

330 ml bottle from Ales By Mail, served in a pint glass. Bottled on 31-10-2013. Pours a murky and cloudy dark orange, almost flat with not much head to speak of. Pungent aroma of mainly citrus marmelade and pine needles. A bit of that "cat piss" smell, some rich dark caramel/toffee and a noticeable amount of alchool. Quite harsh and rough during the first sip, because it’s indeed undercarbonated, not helping the drinkability and perhaps showing more booze than usual. But as always with Kernel it’s a tasty beer, sugary sweet, warming, pleasently bitter with a lingering citrusy/piney and resinous aftertaste. Not as balanced and defined as I was expecting, but it grew on me slowly.

Bottle at home 15th January 14. Pours a little murky, aroma is nice, but not as floral as some Kernels. Taste is great, fairly sweet, some boozy ripe apricot and pineapple, some pine. A little under carbonated. Good, but not as great as the recent Double SCANS

Bottle. Murky gold. This has a fantastic mouth-watering pineapple and grapefruit aroma with a skunky hops. Heavy sweet tropical fruits and a punchy sour bitterness. The high alcohol content is well hidden. A bit flat though.

Bottle at Port Street Beer House, Manchester. Aesthetically challenged, to say the least! Aroma is big, pithy, grapefruit, cheesy and pissy. Taste is mouth watering, pithy bitterness. Herbal and fresh, erring towards minty. Full bodied, oily palate. Bitter, juicy finish.
