Bottle at the brewery- 4th Jan 2014. Looks the part. Smells great. Could have been another killer DIPA from Kernel if it was properly carbonated. Pretty disappointing in terms of their track record. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Went into this with a little trepidation, but shouldn’t have worried. Flattish, yes, but still a pleasantly light body. Flavour is fruity and sweet, with sticky malts. Alcohol burn after gulping. Not the best Kernel, but still enjoyed this.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This murky yellow-orange beer has a sweet tropical fruit flavour, pineapple notes and a warming sweet zesty finish. Bottle Conditioned.

hazy mid amber with lacing white head, caramel mango and grapefruit on nose. Full bodied, richly sweet Seville marmalade and peach juice, low carbonation. Properly flavourful.

Bottle from the brewery. Like what others have said, this is a bit lifeless. Pretty much flat in regards to carbonation. It has good flavours and notes to it, the body just really lets it down. Seems like poor conditioning. That said, it is by no means a poor beer, just not at the usual Kernel standards

I had high hopes for this beer as the 7.1% 4C was amazing. This was lifeless, no head, murky and didn’t have what id say is a professional finish? Nice hop flavour and a good malt back ground, just the finish and detail didn’t seem up to the normal standard.

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark gold with no head. Aroma is toffee, alcohol, pine and pineapple. Taste is bitter pine to start with sticky toffee and mango on the finish. A bit flat. Rare fail from the Kernel.

Bottle - fuzzy gold pour with very thin head. Citrus hops, sweet caramel malts, some pine, very low to no carbonation. Not bad.

Leighton (10781) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 21, 2013
Bottle at the brewery shared with Tommy Boy. Pours mostly clear dark gold white a bubbly white head. Jammy citrus in the nose, orange, tangerine. Medium sweet flavor with sugary pale malts, lots of jammy citrus, slight pine needles, alcohol, dry hay, tangerine, marmalade. Medium to full bodied with soft, almost flat carbonation. Fairly warming to finish with moderate hop oils, pine resin, pale malt sugars, mandarin orange, marmalade. Some gritty, dirty hay and pine in the aftertaste. Fairly tasty for the most part but lacking condition and, notably, that je ne sais quoi one expects from The Kernel.
