Bottled, 330ml from S.H Jones, Banbury, Oxon. Gold with white head. There is a bitter-sweet start to this, tangerines, cumquat type flavours, increasingly acidic but also with a grassy, hay-like aside. Good depth always interesting. Really very pleasant.

An IPA from the kernel never disappoints. The hops used here are less striking than some of the other combinations I’ve tried of theirs (citra, amarillo, etc) but there are still fresh strong citrus and fruity notes on a balanced thick malt. Sweet and then bitter. Delicious.

Had this in bottle at home Sunday 31st August 2014 Light murky yellow with white head a light yeasty sediment sits at the bottom. Soft with a sweetness that leads onto an increasing citrussy bite, building slowly then finishing with a furry dryness. Lovely. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

Bottled. Pours deep golden with an average, lacing off-white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruit notes and caramel. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and bitter. Medium bodied, oily text. An excellent IPA.

Bottle from Beermerchants. Pours hazy golden with a big creamy, stable white head. Aroma of tropical fruit mx,grapefruit, mango and passion fruit. Taste is light crisp, fresh fruity hops, juicy oranges, and some good herbal and minty dry, bitter finish. Lovely beer, lingering finish.

330ml bottle from Hippo Beers. Cloudy amber brown, reasonable head. Unusual spicy leafy lemon hop aroma. Biscuit pine resin hop flavour. Bitter lemon hop aftertaste. Good IPA but Kernel do better.

The_Osprey (3227) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 15, 2014
Bottle, 2 months old, 7.3%, into tulip. Clear dark orange, bubbly white head, lacing doesn’t stick around. Aroma - citrus, some pineapple, alcohol comes through bringing a sharpness to it. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste - toned down malts, slight sour caramel, cat urine, white wine minerals. Nicely balanced, mild beer. Not as hoppy as I was expecting and hoping. Decent.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy dirty yellow pour. Small scummy off white head. Mild tropical scents, light passion fruit. Thinniish body, clean mouthfeel. Hides alcohol well, balanced hops and bitterness. Good stuff.

allmyvinyl (6341) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 1, 2014
Bottle at home. Pours hazy golden yellow, thin white head. Tropical fruit aromas, light caramel malt. More tropical fruit on the taste, nice bitterness. Something fails to sing though.

Leighton (13956) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 25, 2014
Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours mostly clear, bright gold with a creamy, white head. The nose is beautiful and just bursting with Southern Hemisphere character: lots of piss, mango, grapefruit, orange. Medium sweet flavor with rich citrus and tropical fruits, faint pale bread, a bit of juicy pine, faint minerals. Medium to full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Lightly warming, good and resinous to finish with further juicy and somewhat jammy citrus, orange, tangerine, more mango and papaya, mild pee. Rich and delicious. Doesn’t quite follow through given the brilliance of the aroma but that’s a minor qualm. Overall, it’s damn fine IPA.
