4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Ales By Mail. My IPA rating # 500. Pours almost clear golden with a solid creamy white head. Strong aroma of peaches, apricot and passion fruit, lovely, just lovely. Taste has the same footprint as suggested by the aroma, loaded with fruits, mild bitter freshness, marmelade sweet malts, a combination which suits my palate as hand in glove. Thanks to Kernel which provides me with this nectar from Be(e)rmondsey, and also have given me some golden moments with their IPAs .

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at home from the brewery. Bottled 9/12/14. Good to see Kernel re-brew some of these, allows me to play catch up. Translucent semi-clear orange coloured pour with a lasting frothy white head. Aroma is big nelson sauvin, spicy citrus, peach, rain of hot tarmac. Flavour is big a juicy citrus fruits, spicy lemon rind, peach and lychee. Pretty classic kenel, clean base malts, and clean and clear punchy hop. Palate is medium to light bodies, highish carbonation. Assertive clean and blacnced punchy bitterness. Suberb.

On tap at Kernel, Bermondsey, Saturday 7th February 2015 Golden with a slight haze, tropical fruits are the name of the game here with mango in particular. Sweet then slowly dryingvin mouth. A very nice beer perhaps a little simpler than the other Kernel IPA we’re on. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours murky orange with a large white head which recedes to a white layer. Aroma is tropical fruits, mango and hints of pineapple. Taste is similar to aroma - mango, fruit cocktail and a medium bitter finish. Medium body with a slightly noticeable alcohol presence.

330ml bottle from Ales by Mail
7% ABV version, bottled 07.12.14 - Pours orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of fresh tangy fruits, citrus, pine, zesty lemon, vinous grapefruit notes, grass and exotic notes. Taste is smooth, fresh fruity and grassy with notes of lemon, grapefruit, exotic tangy and vinous notes. Finish is crisp, hoppy and fruity with some juicy notes. A good showcase for the awesome hop, but not quite on the level as some of the awesome Nelson Sauvin IPAs, for example Alpine Nelson.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 330ml (ABM, alc. 7,0%)
Slightly hazy orange color, small steady white head. Strong Nelson Sauvin sweet tropical kiwi fruityness in the nose. Medium-bodied. Also lots of sweet kiwi in the flavor. Light citrus in the finish. Very easy to drink, feels much less than 7%. Solid The Kernel IPA although Nelson is nowadays so 2000s.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy yellow color, medium sized white head. Aroma is malts, nicely hoppy and a little floral. Taste lightly malts, floral, decently bitter. Decent body and carbonation. For Kernel standards it’s just ok, but it’s a nice beer.
