Slightly hazy gold - amber beer. Tidy but short lived white head. Light palate which semi dry and semi crisp. Nice Nelson nose! Tiny bit of creamy malt. As always with Nelson Sauvin (to me at least) it never quite imparts the same flavours twice! Here it is orange, grapefruit and gooseberry. A little cats piss underneath. Smooth finish and a bitter aftertaste. Great IPA as usual from the Kernel. Original rating 3.8

Meet the brewer night at CP&K. On tap. Hazy amber beer, tiny white head. Fresh clean beer. Light crisp palate. Light gooseberry and grape and other good stuff like tropical fruits. Not things I would normally associate from Nelson Sauvin. Good in the bottle this is fantastic!

At the brewery - thanks to Toby for the pour. Lovely nose of apricot and peach. Fantastic fruity grapes with lesser flavours following the nose. Underneath is bitterish grapefruit marmalade and orange. Mild minerals. Semi dry finish with mild bitter linger. Fantastic!

500ml bottle. Beermerchants.com. Yep, I still love Nelson Sauvin hops and in this superb beer they smell and taste gorgeous. Soft kiwi and mango aromas, silky on the tongue, as mellow as you could ask for and with a hint of biscuit midway. A hazy orange appearance, a semi sweet long finish. Flippin gorgeous.

Draught at the brewery. The board at the brewery says 7.4 %. Hazy golden/apricot color, with a beautiful lasting offwhite/yellowish head. Great fruity hop aroma, passion fruit, mango, pine, caramel, pineapples, floral, grapefruit notes, woody, citrus, orange, clementines, biscuits, acidic, the different tropical fruits just keep coming. Hoppy fruity flavor, caramel, pine needles, woody, citrus, orange peels, clementines, floral, earthy, leather notes, herbal, pears, pineapples, grapes, mango, biscuits, banana notes. Fruity hop finish with caramel, grapes, pineapples, passion fruit, orange and lemongrass. Magic, one of the best IPA:s I have tried.

Bottle at home in London. Pours a slightly cloudy gold with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is mostly fresh grass hops with notes of pine, orange and grapefruit citrus, and straw. Flavor is well-rounded and delicious, sweetness of honey and light caramel, bitterness of grass, cat pee, restrained pine and citrus. Medium in body with average carbonation. Warm, sticky finish, some oily hops, toastted malts, delicate citrus and urine. Really nice.

33cl bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras Rail station. Hazy orange gold colour with thick ivory head. Now I do think NS is one of the most overrated hops in the world and so many beers have done diservice to it. When it’s done well, then it is superb but so many turn out to taste of sweaty socks. Aroma is intense NS, intense tropical fruit, sherbert and touch of cat pee. Tropical fruit juice in the mouth which is really very good indeed. Great mouthfeel and finish. So juicy as to be almost untrue. Some sweaty sox, cat pee on finish. Good bitterness on a very lasting finish. And although the aroma is excellent, the mouthfeel is just sublime. Just phenomenal. Wow. One of the best single hop NS beers I’ve had. Best British brewer this side, of well, just about anywhere really.

Bottle from the brewery at home. Opaque yellow orange colour with big beige bubbly head. Aroma is classic Nelson Sauvin, lots of tropical fruit, peach, orange. Loads of fruit. Taste is less full on fruity, but still pretty fruity! Orange again, and lots of tropical stuff, with a nice medium bitter finish. Very soft in the mouth and very drinkable. I love Nelson Sauvin and Kernel though, so I was always going to like this. Lovely!

Keg @ The Kernel. The pour’s hazy deep gold with a small head. The nose is strong, funky nelson hops. Loads of piss, gritty earth, soft citrus fruits and dirty bucolic aromas. The taste is wonderfully aggressive funky new world hops. Loads of bitter root, more piss, light cheese and soft pineapple. Dried mouldy grass. Medium body, active, bright palate. Overall, fantastic. So fresh and full of character.

Bottle at Dean Swift near Tower Bridge. Cloudy orange like a hefe. V strong over-ripe orange aroma with smokey grapefruit and lots of other things I can’t begin to describe. If only all beers smelt like this... Tastes less bitter than the aroma. Light-ish despite the ABV. Smooth and thin like wine. Bitter tang fizz on the tongue. Superior beer. Superb balance. I have been spoilt tonight.

Bottle share at Ma Che, Roma, 09/02/13, from the brewery. Hazed light amber with a thin bubbly white head that dissipates edgeward. Nose is hops, pine, grapefruit, tropical fruit notes. Taste comprises grapefruit, mango, orange pith, mineral tones. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, hop bitterness in the finish. Top notch well balanced IPA - quality Kernel fayre!
