CraftBeerNick (1174) - London Town, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 21, 2015
Bottle at home, 6.8 version, 21st May 15. This poured cloudy, aroma slightly muted for a Kernel. Taste is fruity, not as aromatic as some and unusually the alcohol is present. OK, but not the finest Kernel

Bottle at home as ’IPA Nelson Sauvin Simcoe’, 6.8% bottled 21/04/15. Nice to catch up on this one. Classic Kernel appearance, hazed golden / orange coloured pour with a loose sticky white head. Aroma is nice floral and citrus hop, hint of grass, tropical fruit and peach. Flavour is composed of semi-sweet base grains, peach and lychee tropical fruits, really juicy and tasty, just and pinc of caramel. Palate is semi-sweet, moderate carbonation, little bit of yeast body. Lingering firm fruity, slightly grassy bitterness. Good stuff.

330ml bottle at home as ’IPA Nelson Sauvin Simcoe’, 6.8% bottled 21/04/15. Hazy dark orange, small bubbly white head, initial thick lacing doesn’t hang around. Aroma is mostly peach with some background red onion and dirt. Body is medium, soft carbonation, quite foamy. Taste is dry with guava, pine, some booze, soft bitterness. A typical classy Kernel. For me there’s just a little bit too much booze coming through in the taste, but it’s still very good.

From keg at the Kernel brewery on 21 April 2012. Cloudy orange colour. Strong tropical fruit aroma. Very strong orange peel and marmalade in the flavour. A little sweet but definitely not flabby. Well up to the Kernel mark.
