Bottle from Brewtique, Macclesfield. Poured a hazy gold with a medium white head. Lots of citrus flavours, lemon, orange, grapefruit, medium sweetness that I loved, juicy hop stuff, bread, pine. Yet another brilliant IPA from The Kernel. I love this beer.

330ml bottle from Nelson Wines, Merton. Pours hazy and slightly cloudy amber colour. Nice bitterness with citrus aroma and hints of nectarines. Gentle finish that lingers. Lovely IPA from a great local brewer.

danlo (1121) - Darlington, Durham, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2013
330ml bottle from Cheese & Wine Shop, Darlington. Pours a hazy orange amber colour, with a foamy white head leaving some lacing and aroma of fruity mango, orange citrus and pine. Malt caramel flavour balanced with juicy tropical fruit & floral notes plus orange citrus & pine resin bitterness. Soapy mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, earthy dry lingering bitter finish. Very drinkable IPA.

Bottle at home from sourced market? Vibrant orange pour with a haze. Persistent white head with some big bubbles. Aroma is tangerine, light dank, some chive, lychee. Flabour has a biscuit pale ale malt profile, yeast yeast ferment, then hops are pine, tangerine, metalic. Some alcohol presence in the finish. Maybe not the freshest bottle, but still a nice drop.

Had not had a kernel IPA for a while. So great to recall just how fresh and flavourful they are. That said, like some of the other reviews now this is a little bit on the sweet and malty side so not the best. But still remarkably fresh with very smooth tastes of citrus and pine hops.

Benzai (8068) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - OCT 27, 2013
Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus and Joes. Clear orange golden color, small white head. Smell malts, some hops, but also bread or dough, kind of covering an underlying fruityness. Taste lightly malts, some hops, lightly fruity. Hmm for Kernel standards it’s mediocre, but still nicely drinkable and decently hoppy.

Bottle @ benzai. Clear amber orange with a small white head. Smells chives, hops, fresh, grassy, fruity, pine, malts. Tastes sweet, hoppy, fresh, pine, malts. Too sweet, could use more bitterness. Medium body, nice carbo.

330ml bottle thanks to Steven. Pours hazy orange with a good, long-lasting white head. Aromas are fresh orange, pine, resin and fresh green beans. Taste is wonderful, great bitterness, great malt balance. Classic Kernel. Medium bodied, good carbonation, long bitter finish. Very good.

Keg at Howl at the Moon. It pours hazy orange with a small white head. The nose is earthy, dough, juicy tangerine, light passion fruit, sherbet and guava. The taste is juicy orange, tangerine, grapefruit, marmalade, dough, creamy, alcohol kick, earth, resin and grass with a bitter, citric finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Juicy and rather tasty.
