Bottle. Forget from where but with our kid. Looks like I’m going to enjoy this, almost black with a big chunky cream coloured head. Smells fucking awesome, hoppy coffee and chocolate. Flavour has more coffee, chocolate, hoppy finish, great mouth feel. What a great beer. Stunning.

Bottle at the pre Bamberg tune up in the Sham, big thanks to Kenny for another Kernel want, 23/01/14. Dark mahogony brown with a good sized light tan head that dissipates to a thin covering. Nose is earhty cocoa, light roast, dark fruit tang, faint tropicals, earthy hop. Taste comprises light roast, hops, tropicals, faint pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying closure. Ok stuff.

Bottled. Pours hazy deep brown with a medium sized, off-white head. Aroma of toasted malt, citrus and caramel. Sweet flavor that ends up quite dry an pleasant bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft CO2. A nice Black IPA. ★★★★

Bottle pours an almost black with almost no head. The aroma is a beguilingly fragrant pine and hops. Taste is full and loads of hops, bit of malt and some caramel to sweeten the middle then a dry bite finish. Premier league candidate.

Aroma: Strong aroma of vanilla, caramel, toast and chocolate.

Appearance: Dark brown body with a medium beige head that holds quite well. Light lacing.

Taste: Chocolate malt, vanilla and muted citrus notes.

Palate: Medium body with a slick, oily mouthfeel that becomes sticky. Soft carbonation.

Overall: Closer to a Porter than an IPA. This bottled version is 5.6%.

Caramel and roasted malt aroma but also fresh hop. Flavour has bittersweet malts, some chocolately notes and then a nice hoppy finish.

Flavor is a great balance of hops and toasted malt sweetness. Medium body and soft carbonation. Nice hoppy bitter finish. Overall an excellent beer.

Bottle from Kris Wines. Opaque very dark brown, off white big foam head. Nose is coffee, caramel, lots of citrous hops, pine, roasted grain, milk chocolate. Taste is citrousy, tropical mango, guava, papaya, piney hops, milk chocolate, mild coffee, touch of lactic milkiness. It works well together. Good balance on palate.

Aroma: caramel, coffee, grassy hops Appearance:dark, murky brown w/ a quickly dissipating head. Minimal lacing Taste: malty sweetness up front ending with grassy hops. Hints of fruit and toasty flavours. Palate: fairly full bodied, moderate carbonation Solid well balanced beer, taste is a bit more mild than I was hoping for

Chocolately murky brown, tan head, aroma of tropical fruits, some bitter roasted coffee, taste is hoppy, malty, bready, sweet, and bitter. It’s a very good beer, if not a perfect one. I feel as if the hopping mixed with the roasted coffee doesn’t quite work, although it’s very close to being in harmony.
