UPDATED: FEB 15, 2012 Bottle: Orange-tinged brown beer with a tan head. Massive aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, citrus-fruits. Taste is extremely well balanced - roasted malt sweetness leading to a dry, lingering bitter finish. Quite big bodied. Big flavored. Delicious.

Bottle from the brewery drunk at home. Very dark brown near black colour thick rocky cream head. Now this I rather like. Hoppy brown malty aroma. Very full in mouth good carbonation good flavour good brown malts and well balanced but quite forward hops. Good choc flavour. Bit of mint on end from the hop mixes well with the choc flavour. Very decent

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
33 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via The Dram Shop. Looks almost exactly like cola. Very little head (maybe my bad pour). Pine resin and burnt coffee aroma. Thick, sweet, maple syrup sweetness. Herbal hops, not overly bitter, finishes with a long but moderate bittersweet mingling.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours deep brown with ruby highlights, light off white head. Epic hop aroma on this one: very piney but with elements of mint chocolate, and perhaps even cannabis, mixed in. Flavour starts off fairly subdued: some chocolate malt, but generally thin and simple initially, becomes hop-mad at the finish however with mint, peanut, pine, chocolate, bitter ash. A cacophony of flavour that erupts but doesn?t quite gel. A fun beer for the ride, if not quite for the flavour.
