4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
33cl bottle from the marvellous Bottle Shop in Canterbury. Hazy deep red ruby colour lasting beige head. Hops off the bat with that distinctive fruity american amber aroma that I like so much. Yes a big American style amber. I have to admit this is one of my favourite styles. I love that strawberry/raspberry big malty flavour tailored to big PNW grapefruit laden hops. This delivers all of that. Just so rich, drinkable and rewarding. God I love this style and this beer is just the right epitome of the style. Nice one.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, 6.8% @ home. Aroma is funky fruity hops, some caramel, some candy like/lemonade like notes. Flavour has some liquorice, caramel, subtle weird liquorice/ burned caramel like bitterness. Hmm, first kernel beer Iím (slightly) dissapointed by. But to be fair itís still a nice beer.

Wonderful brew. RIch amber colour with a spicy, vegetal, caramel nose with nice pine, citrus aromas. Palate is much the same, very complex yet drinkable. Very good.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Iím not normally a big fan of amber ales although Iím not sure thatís precisely what this is. Itís got a big malty sweetness while still bitter from the hops and, as always from the kernel, remarkably fresh. Maybe this is what Iíve been missing.

Lovely red-brwn with a beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, strong floral hops. Taste is light sweet, with a long bitter finish. Oily texture, light carbonation. Really good beer.
