2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a murky purple-red color, with a fizzy head to it, vanishing almost instantly.
The whole room is enriched by a vinegar funkiness after opening the bottle. Its sourness is profound and unique at the same time, revealing moldy earth, cucumber, horse raddish and glue.
Has a medium carbonation, creating an effervescent mouthfeel, due to a well nuanced aqueous quality.
Tastes of minerals, vinegar, cucumber and old leather, while creating a refreshing tartness. Its sour profile is in need of getting used to, as the beer doesnít feature any interplay with a sweet flavor, or a soothing barrel characteristic establishing a convincing complexity, as well as a well desired balance. Finishes with even more pickled cucumber, a watery quality and a faint fermented grape appearance, while the beer, once established on the palate, doesnít evolve too much.
This features an utmost strange, herbal and moldy, sourness, while missing required balance, to make the beer interesting on the palate.

Beer bursts out of the bottle, pink and looking beautiful. Some foam that stays around for longer. Aroma of berries, bit of wheat but mostly freshness. Fresh berry-forward sour goodness in the taste. Sour and fresh. Dry. Not sweet, good stuff. Beautiful and nicely drinkable sour.

Deep cloudy purple color. Nice light sour mouth, very tart with lots of damson skins. Really really sour. With big sour and damson finish. Very interesting and I love it.

September 20, 2014 - at The Kernel, Zwanze Day 2014; on cask. Hazy deep raspberry red with a frothy pinkish white head. Aroma is ... fucking sour - awesome, awesome, awesome - damson, sourness, no alcohol - just a big olí attention-getter for the nose. The taste isnít anywhere near as sour, but thatís okay - itís pleasant, fruity, there is some gluten stickiness and lacto character ... the London Sour base beer shines through, which is good, I love that beer. Light body and carbonation, oddly itís only moderately acidic (itís smells hugely acidic, go figure), finishes quick with a bit of marmalade in the aftertaste; lovely stuff.

WoW. A really nice and pleasant sour ale. Even my friends had to say ok. Sour can be nice. They are developing! Good looking Deep Purple stuff. Pleasant sourness and acidity. Fine body for a 2,3% beer, and a nice carbonation. Plums, lactic and mild citric. Nice one!
