Bottle from Kernel and about 8 months old. Pours pale straw with minimal head. nose is mild fall fruit apples peaches and plums sweet sour combo. Taste is more intense but similar. LIke near the skin of a plum where it is most sour, Lactic (yogurt) sour, and some light lemon maybe but not as citrus as others can be. LIght on the palate but very smooth and so easy to drink, I really like the mild carbonation and this is much better than the regular Kernel Sour in my opinion

33 cl bottle thanks to Ingo! On April 18, 2014. BB 08.02.14.
Clear pale straw yellow color, no head. Vinous, berry, yeast scent, also wood and hints of vanilla, acidic. Acidic to sour, tart, then massive and massive wheat dough that goes and ruins the day for me, one of my hate objects to feel. Later on could also feel wood and vanilla in the taste as well. Wheat dough (urk) aftertaste that really bothers me, and it lingers too. Thin a bit fizzy mouthfeel, no bitterness.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours vibrant hazy yellow with a small bubbly white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sour with crackers, grape juice, lemon juice, moist wood, sour milk, hay, plums and unflavoured yoghurt. Taste is very sour and tiny tannic with crackers, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, moist wood, sour red wine, hay, lemon zest, dry soil, leather, raisins, lemon zest and hints of orange zest. Mouthfeel is dry, tart, mouthpuckering and light bodied. Finish is sour with crackers, lemon juice, raisins, hay, dry soil and moist wood. Great mouthpuckering komplex berliner!

Bottle 33 cl. Back label reads: "Aged in Burgundy Pinot Noir barrels for 4 months". Pours a very pale yellow with no head at all - looks like a glass of light white wine actually. Lovely woody aroma, tons of oak up there. Light body, low in carbonation, tart and citric but the lovely wood accents dominate before the base beer comes through again in the finish with lots of salt, yeast and minerals. But I really could sniff this all night.... 040214

[ Bottle ][ Leighton ][ 330mL ][ Tired Hands Stemware ][ Gift ][ 2/1/14 ]
>> Pours a clear straw with weaker than normal foam even for a Berliner. Nose is yellow apple, mild vinegar, mild chardonnay barrel oak/sweet cream butter. Taste is clean, lactic, salty, light peach, light vinegar/acetic bite. Palate is clean and salty with the acetic present but not ruining the beer.
